Dear the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Numchuk is a self-custodial collaborative-multisig Bitcoin wallet. We are a software provider, not a custodial financial intermediary.
Our software is free to use, It allows people to use single points of failures and store bitcoin in the safest way possible, while preserving privacy.
We do not collect any user identification information beyond email addresses. We also do not hold any keys. Therefore:
* We cannot "freeze" our users' assets. * We cannot "prevent" them from being moved. * We do not have knowledge of "the existence, nature, or value and location" of our user's assets. This is by design.
Please look up how self custody and private keys work. When the Canadian Dollar becomes worthless, we will be here to serve you, too.
Sincerely.
the Numchuk team.

Think of their software wallet as a traditional leather wallet.
They sell those.
The government asks them to freeze the funds in the leather wallets they sold.
The leather wallet company scratches their heads and then tells the government that’s not possible.
Well, the CIA or FBI would both do just that.
bttt
Good example. I understood that.
But I still do not really understand how crpto currency is handled.
Did not say I was incapable of understanding it, but never spent the time to read about it. Did not see the reason to do it. May be, now I might.
Yes, this is true. This was their official response.
Because of that ... I’m now a user.
I lost all my bitcoin keys in the same tragic boating accident where I lost all my guns. Thank God no one was injured.
People should stop donating to the Nazi Liberals/NDP
Yep, and more.
smile. Thank you.
Bump!
I might consider it now. hee hee
Could the recipients of bitcoin in Canada use it to buy food, gas, pay the mortgage etc with a frozen bank account?
LOL
Sure hope it’s true. :)
It’s not cash. Turning into cash in CA is how the frozen bank accounts impact it.
The rebel spirit lives.
I am glad that some organizations refuse to kneel before the goose-stepping jack-booted thugs of Pharma Fascism.
Yes. If you have Bitcoin you can trade it peer to peer for fiat.
What a relief for me. Not for any funds I have that may have been jeopardized but I was seriously worried that I misunderstood how blockchain works. Apparently not. What they demanded is impossible.
I am surprised that there hasn’t been a run on the banks yet!!!
If we had a real president, he should freeze all US bank accounts of Liberal and NDP Members of Parliament, confiscate their property in the US, and expel their diplomats. If they have any children in US Universities revoke their student visas. After all they have unacceptable views.
The most important thing is to keep the balance of your BTC off the online exchanges and in an offline hard wallet.
