When she was at Yorktown Heights HS she went by the name of Sandi Ocasio. Ocasio is a Latin surname that can be found in Spain, Portugal, AND Italy. So my guess is most of her classmates likely thought of her as Italian. Her coloring is actually a shade or two lighter than my late dad’s, an Italian of Calabrese lineage. More like mine and I’m half Irish.
