The legend of Eileen Gu continues to grow in China.
Gu, the American-born freestyle skier now competing for China, had already won a gold and a silver medal. Friday morning, under an ice-blue sky and in surprisingly warm temperatures of 12 degrees Fahrenheit, Gu dropped into the halfpipe for her third and final event of the Games.
Two runs later, she’d captured her second gold of the Olympics, and her stature in China had grown immeasurably.
In China, Gu is the face of these Games, her image and likeness appearing on billboards, in commercials, and on the omnipresent official Beijing Olympic shopping bags. She’s a hero to millions of girls in China.
But with her growing image has come controversy, with many American critics questioning her decision to ski for the country of her mother’s birth, along with unanswered questions about the truth of her citizenship status. Gu has resolutely declined to answer all questions about her citizenship or other geopolitical issues at these Games.
Instead, Gu has done her talking on skis.
Gu considers halfpipe her best event, and in qualifying, she proved it, recording the best score of all competitors and earning the right to ski last in the three-run finals. She seemed to lose a bit of momentum on her first run, not quite carving up the sky the way she has in previous events. But even that was enough to earn her first place after the initial round; her score of 93.25 drew raucous cheers from the heavily Chinese fans gathered at the base of the halfpipe.
Her second run was even better, earning a 95.25. That held up for the rest of the event, and Gu won her second gold of the Games.

Yep, our young people are dunces made gay in the fifth grade definition by a diet of Harry Potter and PC propaganda.
And yes, for any CCP trolls out there I just said she's a whore.
You are correct. She is an expensive whore, too.
She should be denied a student visa to attend Stanford.
Let her study in Beijeng, since she loves it so much.
100%
Yes....and....take the cannoli
Outstanding point!
Goo is a CCP stooge.
Quite possible. Or China simply made an exception and made her a citizen absent renunciation. They wouldn't care, and clearly the Olympics don't care either. The irony, she's not a dual citizen athlete competing for another nation because they can earn a place on a team. She could have competed and likely won for the US. I've read she made over $30 million in 2021 largely from endorsements in China. Will be more this year. Doubt she could earn that as a US medal winner. At least she'll pay tax here.
Gu is a traitor to America. Same as Jane “Commie” Fonda sitting on a North Vietnamese AAA piece and laughing her @$$ off.
It’s weird how there is zero info about her father. One would think a guy would be quite proud to claim her as a daughter. Her mother never claimed to have been married
My only other thought is that it was a married man or someone else who simply couldn’t come forward
It’s definitely odd.
The sort who would marry one and then have an affair with a Chinaman.

Almost the entire Israeli 2020 olympic baseball team was American. People are upset because this is about China. Bread and circuses all around. Corporate america sold out years ago, this is no different.
Mata Hari … what thin slippery character.
When Red China's involved you *never* know which end is up!
“We have plenty of people born here and here for generations that are traitors.”
Yep, the enemy within is far worse. I sadly think most immigrants are more appreciative on an instinctive level of America’s founding values than half of our “naturally born” citizens.
But there’s no question there are also immigrants with split loyalties.
We need to be vigilant of both - the native and the important traitors.
Stanford is good in computer science.
