GOP’s Mike Turner: Durham sending not-so-subtle ‘message’ to ex-Clinton attorney Michael Sussmann

GOP Rep. Mike Turner contends that the latest filing from Special Counsel John Durham is potentially a message to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton attorney Michael Sussmann advising him that “he’s not being well-served by his lawyers.”

Fox News host Bill Hemmer reported on America’s Newsroom Wednesday that Sussmann is now calling on the court to remove a section of the latest filing by Durham, “calling it prejudicial and false.”

Hemmer asked Turner, “Does he have a point that report should be kept away from the case?”

“What’s interesting about this filing is basically Special Counsel Durham is sending a memo to Michael Sussmann saying he’s not being well-served by his lawyers. The pleading sets out allegations, evidence that they intend to admit into court that relate to third parties. People besides Michael Sussmann himself of which though he would be caught up,” Turner noted.

2) Turner: I think in Michael Sussman needs to read this again and pay very close attention to what Durham is saying about his own counsel and certainly look to his best interest, which probably is to cooperate.

“The pleading basically says you’re not being well-served by your lawyers, you should be cooperating and your lawyers have the interests of others, third parties that don’t affect you. We’re going to be going after them also. And that’s where we get these explosive allegations of this spying against the Trump administration, the Trump campaign… a number of criminal activities that are alleged,” he continued.

“Certainly I think Michael Sussmann needs to read this again and pay very close attention to what Durham is saying about his own counsel and certainly look to his best interests which is probably to cooperate,” Turner reiterated.

Co-host Dana Perino stepped into the fray to ask if the pleading would result in anything substantive happening, “Congressman, Andy McCarthy, over at National Review, he’s a former prosecutor, has written that this could turn out to be the same as the Mueller investigation where you see a lot of smoke but there’s no actual fire where you get people indicted and arrested. And the possibility exists that the real scandal here is all the stuff is legal but goes right up to the line of being illegal. Do you see that as a possibility in the Durham investigation?”

“Well, we’ll have to see. We don’t know what evidence that he has or what evidence he’s going to actually introduce into court. This pleading is about what he intends to introduce,” Turner stated.

“But there are really four explosive allegations here, right? There’s the Clinton administration… this Clinton campaign spying on the Trump campaign. Then there’s the Clinton campaign perhaps continuing that spying into the Trump administration itself. And the other two are the attempts by the Clinton campaign and others to co-opt the government, the Department of Justice, the FBI. And then the fourth is those actions that actually happened. Those things we know are the FBI lied basically to the FISA court and where there were investigations undertaken into Trump himself and the Trump campaign. All of which that were bogus and were based upon opposition research from the Clinton campaign that proved false,” he noted.

He also said this was scandalous and should never happen again in reference to the whole Russiagate incident.

Turner, who is likely the next House Intelligence Committee chair following the midterm elections, has said he will “absolutely” hold hearings on the Durham inquiry. He also previously stated, “I think that this is going to lead in the end to Brennan, Clapper, and Comey.”

Stop with the subtlety and start with the action.

Too bad no one showed the same ‘courtesy’ to Gen Mike Flynn, whose original attorneys were doing everything they could to send him to prison for the Deep State.

Wrong set of friends for Flynn. That was the point of the biased handling all along. People who replied to Trump's invitations with "Sorry, Don, I can't make it." are on the outside of prison. Others are like "NY AG Said To Have Trump Kids on Indictment List."

McCarthy says Durham and Mueller are equal in futility and non-legality, he then throws water on Clinesmith, as just some guy lying to the FBI. McCarthy is wrong - Clinesmith, is a FBI lawyer who forged evidence that was going to a FISA judge. They then used that false evidence to spy on a president.... All true, and worse than anything in the garbage Mueller report, and worse than Watergate.

So McCarthy is wrong, Durham’s case is a lot more destructive to America, and Trump did absolutely nothing and was accused of treason. Hillary spied, and used her fabricated disinformation to destroy a president, and block his ability to govern. They also used the Mueller Investigation to change the Congress in 2018, they ran on it, and it was all lies.

There is no way that Durham is sending Sussman a message about his lawyers. That’s an unprofessional analysis. Sending Sussman and his lawyers a message, I suppose.

But tend to support my personal belief that when the dust settles not much of anything is going to be done.

My Congressman Boehner butt boy. Looks like our establishment Republican friends are going to help Hillary & Obama squash the investigation into their common enemy President Trump while telling the rubes to “trust the system.”

Criminal charges/prosecutions are not based on your personal expectations or personal time frames.

But tend to support my personal belief that when the dust settles not much of anything is going to be done.

Why? Because your personal expectations are not being met in the time frame you expected? C'mon.

He’s not going to do that. Ever.

Not if he wants to keep breathing.
