L.A. Times Claims Kids 'Seldom Complain' About Masks(?)

The Los Angeles Times editorial board argued in a piece published Tuesday that dropping mask mandates would be "premature," claiming that schools are "doing fine with masks" and children "seldom complain" about wearing them.

"Attending school carries a higher risk of transmission than a stroll through the supermarket. Students and teachers are close together for hours each weekday," the editorial claimed.

The piece acknowledged that "children are generally less likely to get seriously ill if infected" with COVID but said they can "still pass infections picked up at school to vulnerable people at home and in their communities."

The board suggested that parents may not feel safe sending their children to school if mask mandates are lifted for Los Angeles schools and proposed that teachers "must be part of the discussion" on the potential end to mask mandates despite noting the high vaccination rate of the primary Los Angeles teachers union.

"Another consideration is the importance of keeping schools open and having as many students as possible attend," the piece read. "Some parents won’t feel safe sending their kids to mask-free classrooms, and many depend on schools not just for academics but for child care and nutritious meals. If masking keeps schools open, it certainly should be continued."

Cuz...for two years you’ve been telling kids they’re gonna die unless they wear a mask, wash their hands and stay 6 ft away from everyone.

Just means they saw the video of kids who were thrilled that the mask mandate was removed and someone at the LA Times felt they needed to counter that message.

These people are easily predictable.

Theynare trying,to,justify it and override parents wishes by claimingmthat “kids are used to them now”

That’s NOT a justification to keep the mandates. Themonly criteria is whether or not they are effective and needed because of,a national emeg3ncy, and since they don’t work, and there is no emergency (never was) masks are not needed

The left will point to the 50 university dolts who are protesting the ,ifting of mask mandates as “proof thst kids still want to wear masks” while ignoring the fact that the other 2000 plus students there cheered the lifted mandates

Most little kids who are raised correctly do what they are told by trusted authority figures.

The first time I went to the dentist as a child, they drilled a tooth without novocain. Pain was unbelievable, but I told myself that my parents wouldn’t have me go through this if it weren’t necessary.

(I was very grateful later to discover that novocain existed ;-)

It’s not for the children it’s for the old vampires.

Hiding their identities behind masks like good little Antifa soldiers.

For that reason, masking should be banned, not encouraged.

Oh, like the native American Italian guy with his tear rolling down his cheek.............. Probably because the mask will end up in the gutter or Walmart parking lot. Or stuck in a sagebrush shrub.

1) They know it’s a capital offense to question the Church of COVID.

2) The ones that do, you can’t hear them cause there’s fabric over their mouth.

It’s not true and even if it were, kids often don’t know what’s best for them.

I have two CA teens still masked today for 7 hours as they have been for 2 years now. I haven’t worn a mask myself for months. I have power; they don’t.

Imagine trying to learn a foreign language when both teacher and student are masked. Imagine going to your senior prom masked. Imagine trying to learn electrical engineering in college from an Indian American masked professor with a heavy accent. Imagine your teachers not recognizing you when unmasked outside. Imagine trying to flirt and smile as a teen when you can’t flirt or smile.

The LA Times sucks!

The SF School board was recalled last night; 2022 is the Year of the Parent.

And not even that. They’re not BANNING masks, just removing the mandate. Any Karen that’s upset about THAT is poking their mask-covered nose into other people’s business.

Agreed- anyone that is upset going forward is proving that they are nothing but tyrant wannabes who can’t stand the fact that others have freedoms

Cause they are smarter than the adults in the room and know the consequences of complaining.

On the Matt Walsh show recently a teacher sent a video in to explain how her young students felt about the ending of mask mandates. Half the class was overjoyed to no longer have to wear masks. A quarter of the students cried and were terrified that without the masks they would die from covid. To me the saddest reaction were the girls in the glass that felt that they were ugly and needed the mask to cover their ugliness.

What idiots. As if complaining was going to do any good.

The best question to ask the kids is, “Would you rather wear a mask or not wear a mask?”

Of course, the kids whose parents live in abject Covidphobia would probably want to continue to wear their mask out of fear of a miserable death in a cold hospital at a young age.
