Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) and five Senate colleagues distributed a letter to colleagues stating they will not grant consent to expedite passage of a Continuing Resolution without a roll call vote on an amendment that defunds the enforcement of the remaining federal vaccine mandates.
The letter reads in part “We have consistently opposed President Biden’s federal COVID-19 vaccine mandates, which would force millions of Americans to choose between an unwanted medical procedure and being able to provide for their families. For legal, constitutional, and policy reasons, we remain not only strongly opposed to the mandates, but also firmly convinced that the risk of inaction on our part is unacceptably high.”
The Senators continue, “These COVID-19 vaccine mandates amount to a serious abuse of both federal power and executive authority. They also further strain the economic and social pressures our society currently faces, while completely ignoring existing evidence-based data on natural immunity from previous COVID- 19 infection.”
The signatories as of this release are Sens. Mike Lee (UT), Roger Marshall (KS), Cynthia Lummis (WY), Mike Braun (IN), Rand Paul (KY), and Ted Cruz (TX).

They already failed at this once.
The Democrats won’t even allow a vote on it, is my guess, since they haven’t stated whether they will or not.

Big picture: This is about people being forced out of career fields due to Fed imposed Unconstitutional Mandates. It is about weakening health care systems to move towards Universal Healthcare. It is about surveillance as they area data basing all Religious Exemptions and related correspondence .
But you can call his office and talk about your issue. It is one of the few offices where I was actually able to talk to a human being...
I don’t agree with his stance on H-1B, and I have stated such; however, as with ALL politicians and frankly all people, I don’t agree 100% of the time with anyone—sometimes even myself ;)
On this issue, I very much appreciate his efforts here.

I am sure he will vote with them...I was just going to post a list of those up for re-election, and Ron Johnson is one of them.

I was able to speak to someone (Lucky me...third time today)
—Staff did not know anything about it, but I suggested he become a signatory as he has been a very strong advocate for exposing the mass formation psychosis, etc.
I am sure he would not be in favor of mandates.

As a federal employee, yes, my paycheck would be on the line, but I'm so sick of CR's that I don't ever want to another one approved. Many I work with feel the same way.
Nothing gets done and the can continually gets kicked down the road cuz no wants to deal with the real problems why a budget is never approved.

OSHA does not cover healthcare workers—CMS does. By not funding CR maybe able to get CMS mandates dropped so nurses and other healthcare workers can return to work.
OSHA does not cover military.
OSHA does not cover federal workers.

How do you think this country got to where it is? IMHO a big factor is because not enough people have done enough. Everybody is busy, but I want to look my kids in eye and say I tried to do something even if we go totally Venezuela.
Tried this before. This is a vote against a CR/STOPGap funding bill...So GOP will have to be given a vote. And maybe some squish GOP who are vulnerable and up for relection could be moved.
I am well aware of Cruz...and I guess you weren’t following my H-1B Visa threads/posts or my posts on the Trump 2016 election rally threads much, or you might know that.
However, I have Blue Dem Senators—they will do nothing. So, if Cruz can do something on this issue, I am glad. Someone is taking leadership...and I am sure there is benefit in it for him, but the mandates are creating the surveillance state—destroying freedom, so I support his efforts. Again, find anyone who you agree with 100%.
Biden’s numbers are so low, I think some Dems might vote against mandates like the 2 did against Build Back Better.
Good idea...Well mine are deep blue, but I am going to call the GOP up for reelection.

I’ve never even noticed your screen name before, so you’re correct in saying I don’t follow your threads.
Given what the Canadian truckers and their supporters as well as truckers and citizens all over the world are putting on the line to fight the mandates, I don’t think it is all that difficult for people to make a phone call or write an email.
