Vulnerable New York Democrat Rep. Kathleen Rice announced Tuesday she would retire from Congress after 30 years of public service, making her the 30th House Democrat to announce plans to leave the House after this year. Thus, further hurting the party’s chances of keeping their slim majority in the upcoming midterm elections.

You don’t drop a sweet money making gig like being a congressperson unless the dollars are about to dry up. As a minority member in the House, you have virtually nothing to sell, you’ll have to live on that $175k/yr salary and whatever you can squeeze out of donors on the promise of maybe taking the House back. Better to leave, work as a lobbyist, or consultant.
Before you are defeated and your marketability as a lobbyist craters.
They think stepping down now will save them. It won’t.
There is going to be a reckoning. Pain and punishment is coming for them all. Not a single one of them is going to be shown any mercy.
Enjoy your life ms Kathy. I’m sure you’ve got plenty of money. You don’t want to be an 80-year-old anything. R U listening Nancy?
Rats and a sinking ship come to mind.
I think cheating as blatant as 2020 can only happen once. They are realizing we are going to be watching them like hawks.
No poll watchers are going to get sent home for the night next time.
They’ll still find ways of cheating, but it won’t be enough - they are getting crushed in November.
The real threat is not Democrats but RINOs - if they don’t get purged in the midterms - a red wave will do us no good.
She’s only 56. She can’t say she’s retiring for family reasons because she’s not married.
More likely she witnessed the Democrat routing on Long Island this pass November and knows she’s done.
The bleeding continues!
Whichever Rat steps up to take advantage of this opportunity will start out favored, obviously, but if the Republicans put up a good candidate and closely monitor the vote-counting, they've got a decent chance.
The only announced Republican so far is still figuring out his position on the important issues of the day, but he has made some Twitter posts! He's got McCarthy-supporting Squish written all over him.
What’s the over-under on the number of Dems who finally decide to cash in their previous campaign contributions? I am picking 40 total.
“Vulnerable New York Democrat Rep. Kathleen Rice”
But but but I thought the New York rodents were looking forward to taking 22 of 26 Congressional seats in November.
“Vulnerable?” HOW could THAT be?
Well since September Brandon has been underwater, yes underwater, in New York and the internals on 18-34 voters are so back it is stunning.
