C’mon, AOC! Announce your candidacy for U.S. Senate!
if only it were 30 senators, too.
Democrats quitting will make no difference if we keep electing Assistant Democrats.
“Democrats quitting will make no difference if we keep electing Assistant Democrats.”
It takes an inordinate amount of effort to figure out if a candidate is conservative, or a hiding Bush leaguer. At one point in time I thought Dan Crenshaw was the real deal, *bzzzzt*, sorry, try again.
You see, “retiring from office” (or “former Democrat Representative” - or most likely ! - simply a deferring and complimentary “Congressman Brown” ) when they interview her for money, money, money on future ABCNNBCBS “unbiased” national news shows, is a positive compliment. “Defeated” in 2022 is not something these Democrat rats abandoning their sinking ship want on the resume.

This.
Can someone please explain to me the economics or philosophy of these guys retiring? I mean they’re in NY, in this case, so they will just elect another rat, right?! So what’s the big deal about rats retiring in a gerrymandered rat district? Is this just an indication of overall morale? I don’t get it.
Eyepatch McCain is another fraud.
I, for one, am cautiously optimistic.
They don’t want to be in the minority.
Lots of noise regarding “congressional insider trading”.
If you can’t make millions on the side, why stick with a job that only pays just north of $200K?
The GOP is pretty “good” at flipping new newly elected office holders. The indoctrination and control process begins the moment they arrive in DC.
Almost all politicians have no core beliefs, they just say what they think will get them elected, then they get to DC and say, “Show Me The Money!”
Whatever portion it is that fail to re-elect Democrats due to blow-back and leftist over-reach add to the Republican count total. If we see these district more vulnerable due to no incumbent running, that is a good thing.
The House is pretty much totally under the control of the party in charge. Not much fun for those out of power.
“Is this just an indication of overall morale?”
essentially, yes ... the National Socialist Democrat Party knows it’s going to be in the minority in the House in nine months, and probably the Senate too ... so the membership doesn’t like facing a future that reduces them from majority top dogs to cringing minority mutts ... and some would even have to mount actual, expensive, grueling campaigns even if a win is pretty certain for individuals, only to face the certainly of winding up in the minority ...
and finally, it’s a truly TERRIBLE time to be affiliated with the National Socialist Democrat Party and government being headed up by a drooling, doddering, demented, and DESPISED “leader” ... far better to bail while still on top and get going on a cushy, lucrative, lobbyist job ...
Congress critters don't get much graft when the other party is in charge. Also, when they have a war chest of campaign money, they can spend it on themselves when they're out of office (there are a few legal gymnastics they have to do, but they all do it). So, rather than burn through the war chest in an upcoming election that they may or may not win, and if they do win, won't have control of the purse strings to get their take, they ride off into the sunset.
I’ve thought it is they know next year may not be great for them win or lose and with three or more terms under their belts’ they have now qualified for their congressional pension. I may be wrong on the length of time but thought it was three terms for reps.
Absolutely true. But I would say the D’s are more ideological than the R’s and therefore generally more inclined to do what their constituents want them to do.
