Kentucky Republican Senator Rand Paul urged truckers to 'clog things up' in American cities during a recent interview where he called for a similar protest to Canada's 'Freedom Convoy' to occur in the U.S.
'I'm all for it,' Paul told the Daily Signal on Thursday. 'Civil disobedience is a time-honored tradition in our country, from slavery to civil rights, you name it. Peaceful protest, clog things up, make people think about the mandates.'
Paul's comments in his Thursday interview came just after a bulletin from the Department of Homeland Security warned that another convoy could disrupt Sunday evening's Super Bowl game in Los Angeles.
But a recent report by a social media tracking firm showed that such an event is unlikely, as of Saturday.
The bulletin also warned that a convoy could be timed to disrupt President Joe Biden's State of the Union in Washington, DC in early March.
'It'd be great, but the thing is, it wouldn't shut the city down because the government workers haven't come to work in two years anyway,' the Kentucky senator said when asked about that possibility.
'I don't know if it'll affect D.C. It'd be a nice change. We'd actually have some traffic.'
He added: 'I hope they clog up cities.'

Sounds good to me!!!
There are slight whiffs of something like a Canadian/US general strike in the air. The Canada situation is simple: If Trudeau would say, “the cross border COVID mandates were not well-thought out and are now rescinded,” the truckers would go home.
But, if it escalates, and the US truckers get involved, commerce and supply chains could really clog up for a while.
Maybe its time to lay in a few big bags of rice and beans as a precaution.
Rand is sending chills down the spines of the Biden Republicans
In other words....he's going to trick us into thinking that he is really going to the Capital to address Congress....but....
The call will go out...."Where's Brandon?"
"Here I am...I fooled ya all."
I just picked up a 50 pound bag of rice for $17. I don't remember the old price. 6 cans of chicken jumped from $9 to $15 in the past year.
Some of the Democrat governors realized they had a losing hand and ended their restrictions. But sure enough, the hard-core leftists are going all in on this losing hand. And now you see the spirit of protesting, and the realization that we are in the majority has energized this country. Go ahead and keep raising. Once again, the Democrats overplay their hand.
They just need to block bridges an airports.
How about truckers not deliver gasoline to the country
Some Democrats realized that and backed off. But others like Justin Trudeau are going all in. Not making sense. A part of the job is to adapt to changing circumstances.
