Geraldo Rivera tangled with Tomi Lahren on Wednesday’s The Story over the convoy of Canadian truckers who are protesting Covid-related mandates in the country.
Some truckers have occupied parts of the capital city of Ottawa, and others have blocked the heavily trafficked Ambassador Bridge connecting the Windsor, Ontario to Detroit, Michigan. Affected residents and businesses have been frustrated with the ensuing traffic jams and truckers honking their horns.
The media gives us no true reporting.
Here’s more. Calls the Truckers “Thugs”.
“I think we’re starting to see those actual essential workers stand up for rights and their freedoms, and these are people that are the forgotten Canadians and also here in the United States the forgotten Americans that normally just sit down, shut up, and do their job,” Lahren said. “These are the actual essential workers that can shut down Canada, can shut down the U.S.A., too, a new kind of shut down that the elites will not be able to ignore.”
Rivera fervently disagreed.
“Their behavior has been nothing short of thuggish in Ottawa. They’ve kept people in the neighborhood awake all night, revving their engines, blowing their horns,” he said. “They deprived Ottawa businesses of tens of millions of dollars. Now they’re blockading the international bridges. They’re laying off people, cutting their shifts short in automotive assembly plants because they can’t get the parts from Canada to the United States. They used their crowbars to threaten cops who were going to tow their trucks away they were blocking.”
He added, “To give them the mantle of freedom fighters is absolutely, appallingly naive.”
Geraldo would have really been appalled by the Boston Tea Party. Canadians get a different version of it in their history books, especially galled that we framed the poor Indians.
Those are exactly the sorts of things that "freedom fighters" do.
Or does Geraldo believe that the Founding Fathers and the Boston Tea Party participants sat around, holding luncheons, electing vice-presidents in charge of diversity, and clutching their pearls?

Geraldo is just playing his role as the opposition he always does. he guy seems to ge on the wrong side most of the time.
Geraldo is more dumbfounded by who really owns him, I’d wager.
At his earliest appearances, he's made it personal. It's all about his family and their exposure to YOU. In Rivera's world, everybody must be triple-vaccinated and masked, because YOU are a threat to HIS health.
He's become radicalized over that idea. He wants 100% compliance with vaccinations, and will not accept anything less. To him, the unvaccinated are the selfish ones.
It's odd, though, that he's not that adamant about other issues. Mostly, he's trying to establish himself as an "elder statesman" or "emeritus" journalist (he's 78 years old, same age as Biden). That's why he constantly shows video clips from his career when he met this or that historical figure.
He's very hard on crime, the border, and strong on the military. He's softer on immigration generally (except for border crossers, he supports the wall), but he frequently makes excuses for Biden and other top Democrats (he uses the "they mean well" excuse a lot).
But when it comes to COVID-19, he's bat-crap crazy.

BLM riots caused billions in damage and took many lives. BLM got what it wanted with cities defunding police and electing Soros paid DAs. Jails were emptied, no bail laws enacted and get out of jail free cards issued. Compared to the truckers asking for freedom, BLM are anarchists destroying society. I don’t recall Geraldo criticizing BLM.
Geraldo’s main complaint is that the truckers are whites using the passive resistance tactics of Gandhi to get achieve their goals. Makes BLM look bad.

Geraldo is a self centered narcissitic blowhard. On The Five the other day he referenced a friend of his in Montreal who was whining about how bad the situation was in Canada vs. a vs. the truckers.
In Geraldo’s mind the opinions of the millions of Canadians who are not his friend didn’t exist because.....well, he doesn’t know them.
When politicians shut down the country got two years it was all OK. When BLM burned, looted and destroyed businesses it was all OK. AOC and Kamala both raised bail money for the ANTIFA and BLM thugs. Now people say enough to government mandates and peacefully protest and they are the thugs? Baghdad Bob would be proud.

Ergo Jerry, if you believe in vaccine mandates, then you don’t believe in freedom.
