Sen. Joe Manchin teamed up with Republicans to introduce a bill that would ban the distribution of drug paraphernalia, and two Republicans appalled by a viral report alleging that the Biden administration was going to fund handing out crack pipes to drug addicts have introduced the 'HUNTER Act' which would do the same.
Though Health and Human Services (HHS) has denied that crack pipes were ever to be included in the 'safe smoking kits' they will fund, Reps. Lauren Boebert of Colorado and Dan Bishop of North Carolina told Fox News that the Biden administration got caught 'red-handed.'
HHS is now considering applications from community groups to dole out $30 million as part of its Harm Reduction Grant. The grant will fund programs that offer materials for addicts to utilize when using to mitigate the spread of disease.

The EPA should really get behind this, shouldn't it?
And it would protect the environment!
Regards,
One common-sense bill does not a Republican make. Manchin is a political animal. He knows his fortunes are tied to a state that’s getting redder and redder by the year. Governor Blackface did his part by driving an exodus of long-time Virginians (some of whom I know) deeper into the hills of WV. I have yet to read or hear from one who says, “You know? I kinda miss Fairfax.” A lot of WV is still rural and untamed, and it draws individualists.
True. Nevertheless, it has sadly come to the point where I will take what I can get and appreciate it for what it’s worth without any great expectations for the future.
But who knows? Maybe like Dr. Malone, he’s having a come to Jesus moment and waking up to what has been going on around him.
Check out the Tucker Carlson interview of Dr. Malone that just came out.
Malone has been on quite the journey of discovery.
Another point: Joe also realizes that his state’s economic fortunes are tied to their natural resources, the biggest of which is coal. There are families in WV who have had miners in their ranks for generations. Then comes along the Left, with their empty promises of a green chicken in every pot; problem is, the pot ain’t big enough, nor are there enough chickens. Digging coal seams out of the rock is all they’ve ever known. Until there’s a plug-n-play solution (which is a long way off, IMO), West Virginians will have to be dragged away kicking aand screaming, clutching onto the furniture, before they give up the thing that’s put meat on the table and a roof over their heads.
“The HUNTER and LADY GAGA bill...”
The “Hunter” Act! I love it!
The Hunter Act ... Perfect!
Manchin is soooooo looking at a presidential run.
Do not trust him!, use him but never trust him!
I have no problem with alternate sources of energy.
What I have a problem with is mandating something like “green energy” which really isn’t so green after all when you look at what manufacture and disposal of the components is, before we have something in place to replace safe, reliable, abundant and what should be reasonably cheap fossil fuels.
“What I have a problem with is mandating something...”
Watch you’re language, ma’am, you’re going to trigger our Tesla reps here with personal attacks telling you to ‘get with it’, and that everything you hear here against their sponsors are lies, and that only they tell the ‘truth’ (until caught).
