RLANDO, Fla. (AP) — A medical examiner in Florida said Thursday that comedian Bob Saget died from an accidental blow to the head, likely from a backwards fall. Saget was found dead Jan. 9 in a Florida hotel room. He’d performed in the area the night before as part of a stand-up tour. A toxicology analysis didn't show any illicit drugs or toxins in Saget's body, according to a statement from Medical Examiner Joshua Stephany in Orlando. An autopsy report released later Thursday showed that Saget had an abrasion on his scalp, a fracture at the base of his skull, fractures around his eye sockets, bleeding between the brain and tissue covering the brain as well as bruises to the brain. Saget was positive for COVID-19 but had no inflammation in his respiratory system, according to the report. “His injuries were most likely incurred from an unwitnessed fall," the statement said. “The manner of death is accident."

Actually it does. People slip and fall all the time.
The ones that you don’t see coming end up hurting you.
<< “His injuries were most likely incurred from an unwitnessed fall,” the statement said. >>
Ah yes, the same thing that killed Joe Scarborough’s intern.
How do you not call 911 with a cracked head, yet someone crawl into bed?
Unseen, as in he was alone in his hotel room.
He tripped after getting in for the night, hit his head, thought all he needed was a good night’s sleep, but there was real damage and he never woke up.
Just ask the comedian who got struck down by God right after a joke about Covid.
I had a weird fall this week that if I had died people would have wondered if I got punched in the head around my eye sockets. Another time I fell right into a door knob.
Weird falls happen.
Eye socket fractures AND the base of his skull in back was broken?
He fell backwards, then got up and decided to fall forward, then got up again and crawled into bed, deciding not to call 911?
Why is there still speculation and debate about this?
The man is dead. People die every day. Case closed.
Maybe some Full House fans have never dealt with anyone close to them dying before. Even if that ‘close’ person was a character on a TV series. Not real.
might be a reverberation type movement
one of the terms used in the autopsy report is one I had never heard before until I recently watched a perry mason episode.
contrecoup
This is an awesome explanation... And it makes the most sense of a nonsensical explanation.
Injuries to his eye sockets AND back of head? Sounds like he was beaten.
Did Hillary place another order?
I was talking to a doc friend about this. It could have been as innocent at slipping in the shower and banging you head on a towel rack. Or hitting something after bending over to tie your shoes.
A swelling under the back of your skull will press down on your spinal cord.
Just a hypothetical.
he also had an enlarged heart that was 95 percent blocked on one side so he was probably about to have a heart attack soon anyway.
How do you fracture the base and eye sockets in one fall? I thought the base was the lower back of the skull.
it must take some force to fracture eye sockets. God put them there for a reason. i think they are pretty strong.
i slipped on some ice. As I grabbed something instinctively the handle met my eye socket. I got a really nasty immediate bruise. Had I not been able to stop the fall I could see also hitting the back of my head. Perhaps not the base of the skull in my instance but weird stuff happens in a fall.
trying to visualize how you get both eye sockets fractured
maybe he slipped on harry reid’s gym equipment
What did Bob Saget do to Cankles to deserve that?
My thoughts exactly, though the hit to the back of the head could have caused a seizure, causing him to injure the eye sockets, or vice versa.
