Wisconsin Democrat deletes tweet about parents, education

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A Democratic Wisconsin state lawmaker tweeted Thursday that if parents want to have a say in their child’s education they should pay for private school or home school, a message she later deleted and apologized for.

Republicans jumped over the tweet from state Rep. Lee Snodgrass, of Appleton, who is also a vice chair of the state Democratic Party.

Republican gubernatorial candidate Rebecca Kleefisch tweeted a video message recorded in her car denouncing Snodgrass’s tweet, saying “we the parents demand a say in our kids’ education and we demand it now.”

Snodgrass, in a follow up message, said she deleted the tweet “because it was lacking in nuance and easily misinterpreted. I wouldn’t want anyone to think that parents do not have a role in their child’s public education-I sure did. I encourage all parents to engage in voting for school board, join PTO and meet with teachers.”

We've had generations of Midgets and Dwarfs going through life without any proper educations. This is why they work in circuses and game shows and blogging.

And bitch about Disney movies.

That’s my girl! That Rebecca is on top of EVERYTHING. I don’t think that woman ever sleeps!

Another doofus threw their hat in the ring today to run against her in the August Primary. She’s gonna mop the floor with Guv ‘One and Done’ Evers when she gets the chance.

Homeschoolers already do a lot of that for the high school years. ( We called them co-ops). Would be great if that took off, would make homeschooling/private schooling much more affordable and accessible for more people.

In the mid 1990s in Polk County Florida I had a conference with Superintendent of Schools about moving our daughter ahead one grade. We had been homeschooling her prior to that and while she wanted to go to school, it was so slow, boring and easy that she was ready to quit. She got a 1300 on the SAT at age 12. She was reading at college level by then.

My point? The super was (really) scared to do that for fear other parents would follow suit. There had not been a single child allowed in Polk County to skip ahead in forever.

I politely and firmly told him, “Glenn, you are not educating our child, we are. You and the school system are here to assist us. We are in charge of our child’s education and you need to understand that all final decisions are ours, not yous.” Truth, that’s just what I told him. She ended up graduating 2 years early at 16 and going off to college.

You can imagine how many times I had to do battle with principals, teachers, counselors, the school board. Most of them weren’t worth the powder it would take to blow them up.

When Biden was placed in the White House, the democrats got overconfident, thinking they could do or say anything they desired.

Many simply quit pretending to be moderate, and they can’t use that for cover any longer. I think it’s hilarious.

I went to a ONE ROOM School in So Wisconsin.

14 kids 8 grades 1 teacher 2 outhouses behind building NO running water=brought in daily in milk can.

Merry Go ‘Round for recess.

I would NOT trade that education for ANYTHING TODAY.

“School Board’ was was composed of property owners of the surrounding land. They chose the books & the teacher.

I would bet money today that at least 50% of those kids got SOME college education & 25% got a degree.

The PROPERTY TAXES in Wisconsin are outrageous.

Look up properties for sale on Realtor.com & search around Madison/Middleton. You will choke.

She did speak the truth. There will always be a fight to determine who controls government schools and what is taught. The only way parents can have control over their child’s education is to send the child to private school or homeschool. Imagine what people could do if they had their property taxes back to spend on a school they chose themselves. Imagine what options there would be.

Wow, I did not know about your early education. That’s an amazing story. Things used to be done right in the USA with local control of schools and charities.

Good luck with that. I’m not sure Bony Beavers’ first gubernatorial victory was all on the up and up.

Anytime a Democrat or leftist uses the word “nuance” it means they said or did something that is stupid under even the most charitable interpretation.
