Back when I used to (be allowed to) travel a lot, I always felt proud when I saw the American flag somewhere. Not anymore. To me it has become the symbol of government oppression, Big Brother surveillance, and deprival of the very rights that are in our Constitution.
Nice of our federal masters to hint at opening the cell doors a bit. The only thing that will even partially restore my trust if this ever ends is if we pass laws…firm and unavoidable…so that this can never happen again.
You said it well.
America, the Flag, all for which she stands, will NEVER be redefined or tarnished by a bunch of snot-nosed leftists.
America is not simply a plot of land. Land can be robbed of nutrients, defoiled, and made barren with salt. America isn't harmed by globull warming.
She is also not defined by whoever is in power. I never stopped loving her when Obama, or Clinton were heading the Executive. Going a step further, as a wise man said recently, she is also not defined by the deadly combo of RINOs and WHATABOUTS with their standard retort to every positive as “yeah but whatabout?”
America, if you will, is a spirit and mindset that the individual reigns supreme and needs to be unencumbered to fulfill his/her destiny.
America, therefore, cannot be extinguished nor tarnished by the actions of dopey leftists, incompetent bureaucrats, rioters, or evil dressed in a suit or lab coat. Oh sure...people's IMAGE of America - especially abroad - may change, but I don't work for them and I don't care what they think. Indeed, THEY are the ones who elevate fallible flesh and bone to deity-like levels.
It has been stated (correctly) that the Second Amendment simply guarantees a preexisting right. The corollary is that repealing that Amendment doesn't eliminate that right. Alternatively, they can tear down brick and mortar and call daytime nighttime, but they cannot tarnish - nay, extinguish America.
