Landlords and residents in California’s Bay Area are being asked to take in vagrants as homelessness continues to spiral out of control.
Several nonprofits and a mayor in the area are prodding residents and landlords to take in one of the nearly 30,000 homeless individuals in the five-county area, the Mercury News reports. Existing affordable housing developments do not have adequate room to accommodate the homeless population.

Sure. Take in a mentally ill drug addict and let him/her live in your expensive, bay area house, to come and go as they please and stay in your house when you are not home.

Today they’re being asked...what’s next? There’s nothing our government won’t do. Nothing.
The major problem I see that there are libs that are dumb enough to suggest that and even worse there are libs who will do it as a virtue signaling exercise. When they find there home stripped bare and the tenant gone it will make sense why it would not work.
In Spokane, Washington, they were housed in the Convention Center for two weeks. They did $90,000 in damage. They used the floor and walls as a toilet. Every Democrat in California should be required to take in at least two.
I’m a landlord in the Bay Area. One single family home in Alameda county. The answer is: no.
My solution: Every apartment dweller-single man/woman, gay/straight, should take in a member of the opposite sex(+gays). Half the studios will end up empty and market forces will bring the rents down. PLUS everyone would be happier! Problem solved.
Don’t do it. Those people have a way of moving in and refusing to move out, and the courts will be against you.

The problem is not homelessness, it’s what causes these people to be on the streets in the first place. Quite often it is their choice, because they want to live the bum life, do drugs, drink, etc. Others are mentally ill. None of those problems are solved by just giving them a place to stay.
They can store their smoke kits, crack pipes, and clean needles in the house.

I was on Reddit (R-Bay Area) today on this subject and its interesting, a lot of them are against this, and reddit usually skews to the left wing. One person in particular who was upvoted argued that what we are doing is not working when dealing with the homeless, the ones who have mental issues need to be put in mental facilities that need to be reopened and the ones who are on drugs, alcohol, need to be put in a forced conservatorship that will put them into locked area’s and can leave when they are better. Not sure how I feel about all that but we are doing sure as heck is not working especially subsidizing them.

Treatment rooms that prevent who are addicted from leaving until they get better I guess, I was just quoting what was said on the post from reddit, again don’t know how I feel about that.
