When hardline leftists (fascists, communists, et al) are successful in advancing their political ideology, we always reach a point where all opposition must be silenced. Dissent is a risk to the totalitarian state; that’s also why communists always ban religion.
Totalitarianism needs total control. Free speech is antithetical to that control. The natural evolution of any totalitarian state is to use the justification of security as a method for that control; hence, the U.S. received The Patriot Act, and all of the longer-term slippery slope consequences that are never fully discussed at the outset. I digress.
So, here we are today – facing a U.S. Dept of Homeland Security (DHS), under the current control of the far left, stating that free speech is now the biggest domestic threat for terrorism. Whereby the voices to target are those voices who might:
“sow discord and undermine public trust in government institutions to encourage unrest, which could potentially inspire acts of violence.”
Undermine trust in government, as defined by anyone who does not blindly trust the policies from Biden administration, and you are now subject to be labeled a terrorist.
DHS Alert (Feb 7, 2022) – The United States remains in a heightened threat environment fueled by several factors, including an online environment filled with false or misleading narratives and conspiracy theories, and other forms of mis- dis- and mal-information (MDM) introduced and/or amplified by foreign and domestic threat actors.
These threat actors seek to exacerbate societal friction to sow discord and undermine public trust in government institutions to encourage unrest, which could potentially inspire acts of violence. Mass casualty attacks and other acts of targeted violence conducted by lone offenders and small groups acting in furtherance of ideological beliefs and/or personal grievances pose an ongoing threat to the nation.
While the conditions underlying the heightened threat landscape have not significantly changed over the last year, the convergence of the following factors has increased the volatility, unpredictability, and complexity of the threat environment:
- the proliferation of false or misleading narratives, which sow discord or undermine public trust in U.S. government institutions.
- continued calls for violence directed at U.S. critical infrastructure; soft targets and mass gatherings; faith-based institutions, such as churches, synagogues, and mosques; institutions of higher education; racial and religious minorities; government facilities and personnel, including law enforcement and the military; the media; and perceived ideological opponents; and
- calls by foreign terrorist organizations for attacks on the United States based on recent events. (read more)
It is not coincidental that immediately following the 2020 election, the same totalitarian voices demanded that Big Tech social media platforms change and modify their terms and conditions to control, remove and target any content provider or voice who might “undermine public trust in U.S. government.” They knew what they did, and they knew they needed control immediately.
The same terror threat argument is right now being made by the government of Canada to label protest groups as “threats to national security.”
The same terror threat argument is right now being used by the government of the United States against the January 6th protestors.
The intents are exactly the same. The institutions are following the same playbook, narrative engineering, processes and procedures for the elimination of those dissident voices. The agents of the “Five Eyes” operating surveillance state are all working in unison.
All of this to frame a political narrative to the benefit of the leftists in control of all similarly aligned ideological governments.
Pretenses have been dropped…
