Drugmaker Johnson & Johnson has halted production of its single-dose COVID-19 vaccine, according to a New York Times report.
The pharmaceutical company last year quietly shut down production at a plant in Leiden, Netherlands, which was the only facility where usable doses of the vaccine were manufactured, catching some of its customers off guard, the report states.
Johnson & Johnson has instead been using the plant to work on an experimental and potentially more profitable drug that could protect against an unrelated respiratory virus, according to the report.

Wonder why ??
Probably the greatest crime against humanity since the Holocaust.
I took the one(JJ) shot. No intention of taking a booster so it’s fine by me.
Well, Glory Be! There is no specific reason given in the article.
What are we to conclude from that, I wonder?
Same here, still got Covid. No mas.
For one, J&J sold its shot at “cost”... no profit involved. No profit also likely means no kickbacks, which is why it was disfavored by the powers that be.
Probably just as well. Not really the sort a distiller should be producing.
My daughter, who works at home, had one-shot J&J in order to get into Hawaii for their anniversary trip without wasting a day in quarantine. No side effects. Then a few weeks ago, she got Omicron. Her husband had it, was like having a cold for 3 days. She caught it from him and was very sick for a week. Neighbor’s daughter and SIL had same experience. Omicron hates women. And apparently J&J does too.
“Wonder why ??”
“to work on an experimental and potentially more profitable drug that could protect against an unrelated respiratory virus.
Pandemics for profit.
At $10/dose, it’s not very profitable, especially when there is huge pressure to donate hundreds of millions of doses to the third world. Since first world countries only want the mRNA vaccines, J&J has a money losing product. They are repurposing the manufacturing facility to a more profitable vaccine. The vax is still licensed to be produced in India, where it will still be profitable.
Except for this, right at the end of the excerpt: "Johnson & Johnson has instead been using the plant to work on an experimental and potentially more profitable drug that could protect against an unrelated respiratory virus, according to the report."
That just means you got the natural booster shot. Or maybe just Nature's vaccine if the J&J did nothing. I'm assuming mine from last May had no effect by last fall.
Same here.
Starting up again in March.
That virus is RSV, which can be lethal to children
Same here.
“...unrelated”
Lack of paying demand for the vaccine I suspect. Everyone who wants one has gotten it. And it’s probably no longer effective in light of the many mutations.
Yes, I think you’re right.
