Checkmate? Virginia senate passes bill to make Youngkin's school mask opt-out a new state law

On the other hand, my guess is that Democrats aren’t keen to see this battle continue. Petersen’s handing the party exactly the sort of off-ramp from restrictions that other Democrats like Phil Murphy in New Jersey have begun to take. The national party wants to blunt the GOP’s edge on its “back to normal” messaging before the midterms. A protracted court battle between the Republican Youngkin and masking-forever local Democrats is a bad look for Biden’s party. Especially since the takeaway for swing voters will be that Democrats need to be replaced at every level, not just in the governor’s office, to make restrictions go away.

The whole article is worth reading.

The dominoes are falling.

Funny how elections in nine months are putting pressure on certain legislative bodies and governors.

Just wait till the results of the primaries start their shockwaves.

What they need to do is take away the emergency powers from the bureaucrats.

Judge can say state law is illegal.

Will say.

Good! We’ve got to make sure we get out the GOP vote. If you have to hold your nose to vote GOP in the general election, do it. The time for fighting for a good candidate is the primaries. If that doesn’t work and you end up having to vote for somebody who wasn’t your fave, do it and get a GOP majority.

It’s all a numbers game, and without the numbers, no matter how good our people are, we can’t do anything.

Plus, if we get majorities, we can go about picking new leaders…replace McConnell, for example. Or better yet, term limits, henceforth and forevermore.

Republicans need to keep reminding voters of Democrat COVID nonsense even they back off from it during the midterms.

Republicans need to DETAIL everything they did, like Whitmer roping off the seed sections in Home Depots and compare them and CALL them Communists, Totalitarians and Tyrants. Tell the public what they are and for once don’t chicken out. Nancy Peolosi is running a police state on Capitol Hill for crying out loud. The democrats are turning us into China and the R’s can’t seem to articulate that loud and clear. Make videos of them

“If you have to hold your nose to vote GOP in the general election, do it.”

What are you, some sort of wise-ass? It’s FAR BETTER to let the Democrats have uncontested power, so that they can pack the courts with their judges, pass laws to make voter fraud permanent, totally destroy the economy with hyper-inflation, make masks/vaccine mandates permanent, and make sure the US can never be a world power again.

Yes, a small price to pay, BUT, in return, we get to ‘teach the GOP a lesson’ and thus feel better about ourselves, you know ‘more principled’ (while the Dems lock up our kids).

Yeah, exactly. This attitude makes me crazy, and I always wonder how many of the people who suggest it are actually Dem plants.

Yep, me too. They were out in number after the election, but I did research a number of them, and think they were legit (at least here) and were just incredibly fed up. Since late last year, they’ve been much quieter...I think as they learn just what the Democrats plan (they wouldn’t take my word for it, they needed it shoved in their faces by the Democrats). They also seem to better understand that we’re incredibly lucky Manchin has stood up to them, as he doesn’t owe our side jack.
