Why are Canadian truckers protesting vaccine mandates considered a threat? The Freedom Convoy has garnered enormous popular support but is condemned by the liberal media and dismissed by Canada’s unpopular Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as a "small fringe minority."
Prodded by Canadian authorities, GoFundMe moved to confiscate and redistribute $10 million raised to support the drivers, prompting such outrage that they pivoted to returning the money to the original donors. A like-minded U.S. group, "Convoy to DC 2022," attracted 130,000 members to its Facebook page before it was taken down by the social media giant.
Meanwhile, Joe Rogan has come under blistering attack for hosting on his podcast a cardiologist and infectious disease expert who questions the efficacy and safety of the COVID vaccines. Rogan is viewed as such a threat that the White House – in effect, the president of the United States – is trying to shut him down.
You have to wonder, why is the establishment in full panic mode every time someone challenges their COVID orthodoxy?
When historians review how our nation dealt with this pandemic, our political leaders will be excused for mistakes made. In responding to a fast-moving once-in-a-lifetime virus that threatened wholesale death, our mayors and governors – and two presidents – made quick decisions based on inadequate information but recommended by health experts who did the best they could. Those will be forgiven.
What is not forgivable and should never be excused is that those same political leaders and medical authorities brooked no dissent, allowed no debate, and by pretending they had unassailable "truths" on their side, undoubtedly caused the deaths of many Americans.

I think the problem is that they didn't make "mistakes" -- they engaged in a naked power grab.

The American people cannot fire Fauci and other CDC folks but, if they can keep their short-term memory alive, they can hold elected officials—city, county, school boards, state, and federal—clearly accountable in the primaries and in the mid-terms. Throw them all out, regardless of party. Anyone that supported a mask or experimental vaccine mandate should be out of office, fired. Further, the next congress needs to remove immunity for experimental vaccines and end the sham approval without ending the experimental vaccines. I’d still like to know how they are getting away with that, giving approval to drugs not available in the US, leaving the experimental ones in circulation, and telling people to just get the shot, the experimental vaccine.

Imagine that you need to get four shots for measles each year, four for polio boosters every year, or, from my involuntary time in olive drab, four shots of bubonic plague vaccine each year -- or be fined, fired, and more.

I don’t think they should be. These decisions, made over the course of months or years were not “quick”, and they involved much more than just “health”.
And “experts” making unequivocal proclamations based on “inadequate information” are, by definition, not experts. They’re charlatans. Do any of these people have a lick of common sense?
Damn, that time share analogy it too close to home. I went through one of those with the wife and I felt almost guilty at the end of the session for not buying one. Whew... Bastards are still calling me up on a regular basis for another “paid for” visit to see them in Vegas.

About 20 years ago we made the mistake of signing up for one of those presentations. "Just give us two hours and we'll give you free tickets to a show" was the pitch.
I wasn't interested but my wife wanted those free tickets and it was "only two hours of our time"!
So when we signed up and got back to our hotel room later that night, there was a bottle of wine and flowers delivered there along with a note thanking us for agreeing to the presentation and telling us a "bus" would be along to pick us up the next morning outside the lobby.
A bus! I insisted on us driving there as I knew the bus was a way to trap us and keep us from leaving early. Good thing I did too.
The place was a good number of miles south of what was then where the strip ended. Some major construction going up - this was to be the time shares they wanted us to buy. So we got the grand tour of some model apartments and then it was down to the hard sell. Right off the bat they asked us how we liked the wine and how expensive and rare a bottle it was - but we deserved it as we were VIPs...
They simply would not take no for an answer. It was relentless as we got handed off to one agent after another, each one with a harder sell.
Finally I had enough and I told them I was leaving and besides, I had already given them 2 1/2 hours. So on the way out, we went to collect our free tickets and of course, you get the run around. The woman with the tickets handed us a form to fill out and ushered us into a cubicle to get that done. No sooner do we start filling out the form then some well-dressed woman comes marching in there to say how disappointed she was that we failed to take advantage of the "deal of a lifetime". How we were screwing our children out of great vacation memories and all that. Reminded us of the very rare and expensive bottle of wine lavished on us the night before. How could we say no?
At that point, it was getting to be three hours so I just told her she could keep her show tickets and my wife and I proceeded to march out of there. Now the hard-sell woman figured we rode in on the bus so she let us walk out there while following slowly behind thinking she'd get another crack at us outside. But no, we just marched straight to our car and drove away, giving her a little wave on the way out.
I found out later they didn't bring the bus back around until 12:30 pm! I saved nearly an hour and a half.
