Warning of ‘take over’ as Beijing strikes major new deal with Latin America and the Caribbean

In a move to spread its power across the globe, Beijing has signed a new deal in a region of over 670 million people that has some concerned.

n a major new move to expand its influence across the globe, Beijing has set out a wide-ranging new deal with leaders in Latin America and the Caribbean that will touch almost all aspects of life in the region of over 670 million people.

One senior US analyst has warned the deal – in which China has pledged to supply nuclear technology, fund space programs and build schools teaching Chinese languages and culture – shows the superpower is trying to “take over” the region.

For decades the Chinese Communist Party has been funnelling hundreds of billions of dollars into Latin America to build critical infrastructure such as ports, roads, and power plants.

Many believe this investment is an attempt to buy power and influence in nations geographically close to the USA.

However, the scope of this new deal – which has been ironed out over the past month – has some Western leaders worried.

I’d advise we in the west stop funding China’s takeover of the world but I know our “leaders” are making too much money off of it for that to happen.

Perhaps if Blincken can tear himself away from watching male figure skating at the genocidal Olympics and get off the marijuana for a few days, he might get his pajamas in a twist and address this problem.

I can understand any country wanting nuclear technology for energy. But why would a latin American country want their own space program or Chinese schools?

I can’t imagine the last two being a priority. Maybe they are accepting the Chinese schools as a condition of getting the nuclear technology.

And my guess is that the space program is also being pushed by China because it may have dual purposes.

Joe is too busy having ice cream and worrying about racism to make deals with other countries. China is glad to fill the void and I can’t blame them.

Odd, I thought it would be the Russians countering our moves on their border. Chinese missiles in Cuba?

Three years ago on a cruise we stopped at a lot of the Caribbean islands. Even then, a lot of the cars, trucks, and buses were from China, along with a lot of the shops being obviously run by Chinese.

“What well happen most of the money well be stolen by the corrupt leaders in those countries...

My hope is that it will hasten their inevitable collapse.

My fear for the rest of the world is the damage that will be done as a result of their inevitable collapse.

Exactly what I was thinking.

The Panama Canal: We bought it; we built it; we paid for it.

We gave it back due to unrest, and the Panamanians sold it to the Chinese. It will only be a matter of time before the Chinese give it back.

The struggle in Latin America goes back even farther: I love the Spanish ministry’s response to the Pope about apologizing for the conquest: “How can a people who speak the Spanish language and were brought the saving graces of Christianity possibly criticize Spain?”

We didn’t annex all of Mexico after the Mexican-American war because we quickly realized that some cultures are incompatible with our own. Thus, we started building democracies instead of annexing territories.

The Spanish, British, Portuguese, and now the United States has failed to create much of anything scintillating in Latin America. Now its the Chinese turn. They should have more success with their totalitarian mindset, something that appeals to Latinos.

It was offered to the US by a group Mexican elite & businessmen when General Winfield Scott occupied Mexico City ending the Mexican War. Polk & Scott turned them down. They then asked Scott to stay and be dictator of Mexico. He wisely turned that down.

Scott is an unsung hero. The best American general most have never heard of. Maybe the best ever! The Duke of Wellington was impressed by Scott’s Mexican campaign.

Maybe, but some cultures cannot be tamed. Look at Afghanistan.

Russia tried for 10 years; we tried for 20. Let’s see how long China will be able to keep the warlords happy.

Eventually, these cultures will bite the hand that feeds them. That is why they are such basket cases.

China clearly will be the next superpower.

But like all empires and powers, they will falter and fall in the usual timeframe of 250 years.

No great power seems to last more than 250 years, in all of human history.

Now maybe our Country will know what it is like for Russia who sees NATO encroaching on their country and surrounding their borders. Only Russia doesn’t have enough money to reciprocate, but China does.
