No— but they ARE using the FEAR of her doing so for a corrupt election-— to try and change the Counting procedure in the Senate of the submission of each State’s Electoral tally— to NOT allow any State’s House/Senate Delegation to question a potentially corrupt Electoral result done by either of the Parties, or Factions.
It is not Conservatives that are doing this— it is the same team of establishment types who do NOT want Trump or anyone in the future of ever having this be possible.

Pence could have not shown up, Pence could have said this is a sham. Going along with it as if everything is kosher is a problem. Not one word about what was going on shows a complete lack of courage. That being said, not a politician in the country would have done anything differently (Donald J. Trump is the one exception) and that’s why he should be the leader of the country. All this talk about DeSantis is funny because he would have done just what Pence did. Trump is thr only one different than the rest which is why everyone of them, Repukes and Rats changed all the laws to make sure they could cheat and get him out of office. Thr whole country is a sham at this point.
Trump was not asking him to “overturn the election”, he was asking him to delay certification until all the fraud issues were addressed.
VP is the President of the Senate, and in the case of this Constitutional task, he POLLS the Congressional Delegation of Each State as to their AGREEMENT of the ELECTORAL votes of their individual STATE. Any one STATE can make a motion as they are called— and dispute their own State’s Electoral result, and those VOTES are SET ASIDE.
At the end, if enough votes have been set aside to NOT achieve a result of an Elected President... the Election is then CONSTITUTIONALLY directed to be turned over to the House.
This is the entire point. This is a BIG deal. The Electoral Counting Act was a sop put together by Haye’s people to solidify the post Civil War power of the Establishment of it’s day to prevent the Constitutional directed actions from being carried out. The Electoral Act should be, and should have been repealed, as it was never challenged in SCOTUS, and certainly was UnConstitutional.

When asked to ‘certify’ something you are attesting to it being correct. If there are questions, you don’t certify.
I am asked to ‘certify’ many things in my line of work. Some of it involves safety issues. If I certify results and they are found to be bad, I am the one who will get the blame.
If I certify something AFTER many of the people involved are claiming the results are fraudulent, I could be held legally AND CRIMINALLY responsibly if deaths occur. This is drilled into everyone who has that responsibility.
When given the responsibility to ‘certify’ the results, the vice president is NOT being told to just rubber stamp whatever crap they hand him.
You don’t understand what ‘certify’ mean so you should shut your stupid pie-hole.

Perhaps, but that is irrelevant to whether the VP can simply declare the results of an election under existing law.
