Which would not have mattered at all to any Democrat.

Doesn't matter. It's what the general public thinks that matters.

Having a vice-president reject the electoral count is not only not sanctioned in the Constitution,

If it is not sanctioned, then how does an election get thrown into the House? We know that's allowed, so you have to explain why the Vice President cannot do that.

it also sets a terrible precedent which would be used against us at every opportunity.

No it wouldn't. You have to have some claim on which to base such an effort, and as I've said, the fraud always occurs on the Democrat side.

Doesn't matter. It's what the general public thinks that matters.

Democrats are not guided by what the general public thinks or wants. They've demonstrated that time and time again. If this precedent is set, it will be used against Republicans. Harry Reid should have taught both Democrats and Republicans a lesson on unexpected consequences.

If it is not sanctioned, then how does an election get thrown into the House? We know that's allowed, so you have to explain why the Vice President cannot do that.

The language for having the House choose a president by ballot if the electors do not produce a majority vote for a presidential candidate is in the Constitution. The language for having a vice-president reject the electoral vote count does not exist in the Constitution. That's why.

No it wouldn't.

Please explain why you are so optimistic about this. What grounds do you have to claim that Joe Biden would not have rejected the electoral vote count in January 2017 if he thought he could get away with it? Stacey Abrams is still claiming that the Georgia governorship was stolen from her by vote suppression, and this is accepted wisdom by millions of Democrats - to think that these people would not use this against Republicans at every opportunity is naive.
