American firepower lands in Poland as Senators call Ukraine tensions 'Europe's biggest threat since 1945': First of 3,000 troops and armored vehicles fill bases after China backed Putin in NATO spat

U.S. paratroopers, armored vehicles and jets arrived in Poland on Friday as part of the deployment of 3,000 troops into Eastern Europe in a major show of force to try to deter Vladimir Putin from invading Ukraine.

Some of the lethal military equipment the U.S. is moving into Eastern Europe was on display, as the military positions the first troops meant to shore up NATO allies amid Russia's continuing troop buildup along the Ukrainian border.

More than 200 pieces of equipment including wheeled Stryker combat vehicles from the Army National Guard 1st Battalion, 185th Infantry regiment could be seen being unloaded at the port of Gdyna in Poland Friday, while soldiers from the 82nd Airborne Division began arriving.

Money quote:

'This is the most significant threat in Europe since 1945. It's just that simple,' Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) said afterward. He called a Russian invasion a 'near certainty,' The Hill reported.

Looks like Robot Rubio is back. Shameful when these politicians opine and are only showing their ignorance. Did Marcobot ever hear of the Berlin Air Lift and the Berlin Wall Crisis? There was the Abel Archer incident where the Soviets thought NATO exercises was a prelude to war.

Putin will continue having his practice events (something he has done for years)....knowing that he's not going to start a WW over a piece of Ukraine....which he doesn't need.

Putin is getting even for Russia, Russia...and will make a fool of Brandon...which is what he is doing right now. I imagine Putin says...."What an dumb a**" every day.

So?
Europe has been sucking on the American military for far too long.
Let us send the progeny of ALL congresscritters supporting this movement to the Ukraine. They will be the first - and only - line of defense.

If they die, meh.

The Western allies probably would have won that conflict. But the Red Army of 1945 was no joke. It would have been a bloody mess.

At any rate, most of the American public and Congress never would have stood for it. Going after the Axis...that was an obvious thing to do after Pearl Harbor. Driving on Moscow...not so obvious.

Without Lend Lease the ruskies would be without the 200,000 trucks we sent them. Plus the food, gas and other stuff. We’d won. But you’re right. It would’ve been ugly.

“Stryker combat vehicles”?

That should not make Russia feel threatened. It is absolutely amazing that the author of the article, simply does not get this concept. Pure Nuts!

If there wasn’t an Eastern Front no invasion of Europe from the Atlantic would have succeeded. Even with most troops in Normandy being substandard it was still a near run thing. If the full Wehrmacht had been available the chances of a successful landing approach zero.

Something like 70% of the German army was tied up in the east. So yep, you’re right. I don’t know what is being taught in schools today. But when I was in high school we learned about D-Day, but nothing about Stalingrad and Kursk.

The curriculum was a bit unbalanced. But I guess that’s true in every country.

“But the Red Army of 1945 was no joke. It would have been a bloody mess.“

So true, the red army historically has been a slow starter. By 1945 they were an absolute steamroller having learned lightning tactics from the Germans.

The western front for Germany in WWII was proper sport, the eastern front was nothing of the sort. Many people would do well to study up on the eastern front in WWII. Those battles made everything on the western front look like small potatoes, not only in sheer numbers but in absolute, no holds bar, brutality.

U.S.A.F. C-130s have been making continuous trips from Germany to Poland over the last couple of days. If you look at this link soon you will see one of them.

Dear Secretary Austin:
Due to your incompetence, 13 Marines died unnecessarily during the evacuation of Afghanistan. Furthermore, your failure to plan resulted in the loss of $84 billion of military equipment which will absolutely be used to kill more Americans. Finally, your “vaccine” mandate is destroying unit cohesiveness and trust in the chain of command.

You are a fool and an embarrassment to the US military.

RESIGN NOW!

Yes, the Russian front was a nasty and brutal place. The old TV comedy ‘Hogan’s Heroes’ often alluded to that. Col. Klink’s superiors would sometimes threaten Klink with a transfer to the Russian front. That would always send Klink into a panic.

Many of the actors and writers of that era were WW II vets. So I guess they knew.

Back when I was in school, during the World War II section, we learned about Stalingrad, the German mistake to attack during winter, and the absolute failure on their part to secure their supply lines.

But, I graduated in 1988, so it’s been 35 or so years ago.
