WASHINGTON (AP) — Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, in letters to seven governors, is reaffirming the need for members of their states’ Army and Air National Guards to get the mandatory COVID-19 vaccine or lose their Guard status.
In nearly identical letters signed late last week, Austin tells the governors that the virus “takes our service members out of the fight, temporarily or permanently, and jeopardizes our ability to meet mission requirements,” according to copies obtained Monday by The Associated Press.

They have legal authority over the Guard units when they are nationalized by the President. However, they are using the threat of taking away the guard ‘status.’ That means denying any federal funds and/or equipment if necessary. It’s extortion.
This government has NO authority whatsoever to force any individual to get vaccinated, period. Biden doesn’t even have that power in an Executive Order. Instead, they use threats, intimidation and extortion on those individuals’ employers, guard command, hospitals, etc.

Due to your incompetence, 13 Marines died unnecessarily during the evacuation of Afghanistan. Furthermore, your failure to plan resulted in the loss of $84 billion of military equipment which will absolutely be used to kill more Americans. Finally, your “vaccine” mandate is destroying unit cohesiveness and trust in the chain of command.

Considering that the equipment, promotions and some large portion of the salaries for Guard members comes from the Pentagon, I would say that SecDef does have some authority in this matter.
Just saw a different story where the Army has started to kick out unvaccinated troops immediately.
So they are both doubling down as well as speeding up. Why the sudden added sense of urgency?
A good first step would be a constitutional amendment putting the Guard under absolute state control unless called into federal service by Congress (not the president).
As it is now, the president can remove the Guard from state control with the stroke of a pen. That’s another king-like power we don’t need.

Good for your sons. They are NOT medical experiments. The US Government needs us, not we it.
Maybe that, or the narrative collapsing, or both.
One thing is for sure. They are in an all-out mad dash to get our military completely vaxxed. Doubtful it is just the completion of an ideological purge of the ranks, since a lot of members were vaxxed against their will. It tells me that for whatever reason, they feel that they must get that stuff into our entire military.
