n estimated 40,458 homes and condos are sitting vacant in San Francisco, and that number could potentially go down if the city were to introduce a vacancy tax that would fine homeowners who leave their properties empty, a new report released Monday by the city's budget and legislative analyst said.

The Tallahassee GD facility had one of the most automated high-tech production lines in the world. When they lost their big production contract with the Army, they went to the city and tried to negotiate a temporarily lower tax. You see, the taxes are based on the original purchase price of whatever equipment you have the temerity to plunk down in their precious city. I think the tax ran about $100,000 per month. Since the equipment wasn’t being used the company wanted to defer the taxes on it until they had a new contract. The city said, “no.” That equipment was gone by the end of the month. Scrapped. All that capability potential disappeared because the city would not let them defer taxes so GD could look for another customer that would need their incredible capabilities.

This is the way all taxing authorities think. Let me tell you what’s likely to happen in San Francisco. Those houses will be torn down and turned into bare lots.

There is no such thing as private property in much of America now.

In Washington State the Governor and now the Mayor of Seattle have prevented landlords from evicting non-paying tenants DESPITE the fact that the tenants signed a private party contract to pay rent.

2 years and counting that deadbeats have screwed over home owners.

Property taxes in many places around the country are out of control.

Now this..... we will fine YOU the owner for not putting a tenant (of our choosing) in YOUR home.

The definition of robbery is the taking of ones property by force or implied force. How is this any different?

Are they assuming the homeowners have no incentive to rent out their property? Does this make sense to anyone?

Wonder how many of the homes are owned by foreigners, hedge funds/RE speculators and AirBnB operators.

A lot of these houses were bought by Chinese investors.

They figure that they will sell them when the price of real estate rises some more.

The elite Nazis in control of Gay Frisco plan to tax the empty home owners.

Good luck with that typical liberal Nazi approach.

Wonder if the Head Nazi, Pelozi still lives in Gay Frisco?

“Tax it. Always No.1 on their solutions list.”

Isn’t it amazing how the liberal elite Nazis in charge of dying cities only know how to tax people and provide less services for higher taxes?

We have lived in Cali many times and most of the people there were Chinese. I think China is sending them to USA to buy homes, with Chinese gov. help... They take over whole towns. Buy all the businesses. They are taking over Calif towns by buying up properties.
