Ottawa's chief of police suggested Wednesday that the Canadian Armed Forces might have to be called in to handle the lingering protesters in the Canadian capital.
"This is a national issue, not an Ottawa issue," Ottawa police Chief Peter Sloly said in a briefing to city councilors. "I am increasingly concerned there is no policing solution to this."

The communists mean business. But if the truckers lose, Canada is the USSR.
Marxists are growing impatient! Screw them-—I’m tired of living like this....
Fools. They should have branded themselves as BLM.
Wouldn’t it be great if the military ranks refused to support the government’s thuggery against the citizens
I doubt very much a police chief can call in the military. I imagine he could make a request at best.
I thought the military told the Mayor to “pound sand”....
They can easily switch from a blockade to a strike, and cut off supplies.
Trudeau is between a rock and a hard place. No way he comes out ahead.
I wonder how many of them will turn up positive for COVID.
Did he wash his hands in front of a crowd ?
Maybe the mayor should go hungry for a few days.

He will regret the move.
He has three, and only three, choices.
First is to wait them out.
Second is to order the police in
Third is send in the army.
Politically, he will not be allowed to cave to the truckers demands. It would put the US in a very tight spot if our nearest neighbor and “little brother” rolled over on Covid mandates.
I see the pressure building using violence to clear them out. The big question is will be it mercs, CAF, or some other armed forces.
IIRC, they did. Fake news has got to keep pumping out the fear porn, though.
I watched the Ottawa police briefing yesterday. All of it. The Chief’s comments have been grossly mischaracterized. The City Council was demanding the police use force. He said they have enFORCED the law when it has been broken. They demanded to know about bringing in the military. He said that he has policed in Kosovo in cooperation with military forces, and that in his personal experience, bringing in the military is a very high risk thing, he thinks it’s only been done twice in the last hundred years, and the military is liable to hurt people. Badly. When he said “This may not have a policing solution,” what he was really saying was, “Teargas and batons aren’t gonna fix this. You politicians made this mess and you need to clean it up.” The City Council was very frustrated, because he kept quoting the Charter of Rights and refuses to violate the civil rights of the protesters. He did say they are exploring options for military assistance to the civil power. Of course he is. He’d be derelict in his job if he didn’t at least look at all options. If you question this interpretation of his remarks, I recommend you watch the briefing in its entirety
Did they?
Please post a link (I am about to go offline for a bit).
Thank you.
“They can easily switch from a blockade to a strike, and cut off supplies.”
I’m sure that is plan “B”.
bttt
Its empty words. First of all, they have to worry if all the Canadian military would actually follow orders if violence is needed against the protestors.
Secondly, calling in the Military would be the end of Trudeau
