I wonder if they will release violators without bail?

Brilliant! This should deter all of the gang bangers, career criminals, and any person with ill intentions from possessing a firearm!

What wonderful suggestions will they think of next?

This will ensure that the rights of the wealthy to bear arms shall not be abridged.

Similar to the celebrities and politicians with armed security guards and a limo driver taking them through the gates to their mansion at night. No worries about the no bail systems and easy parole or the decarceration of felons from prisons. Feels nice and safe.

Using a gun in a crime is the first thing plead out and very seldom prosecuted.

Registration of gang banger guns with liability insurance and fees optional.

Many would argue that requiring insurance and ‘an annual’ fee to exercise a Constitutional right might be considered, oh, I don’t know, unconstitutional. But I wouldn’t bet on it. Most of us don’t enjoy the subtile and nuanced minds of leftist judges who can discover a ‘right’ like abortion hiding in the penumbra of the right to privacy implied but not stated in the 4th Amendment yet are confused by the words ‘shall not be infringed’.

If they can make the 2nd amendment subject to insurance and fees, they can do the same with the 1st. And will likely try to do so.

An expanded harassment of people who own firearms, along with a back door registry to assist in future confiscation programs.

All under a pretense-of-law.

The people advocating these measures will not be influenced by petitions or protests and they do not believe they can be removed by "elections". Constitutional restraints to them are an annoyance written on a meaningless scrap of paper.

Interesting times.

Blatantly unconstitutional. “... shall not be infringed”.

Will the criminals that represent the illegal and murderous use of firearms care about the new rules to be applied to legal gun owners? No. So the effect it will have on violent gun related crime will be zip, zilch, nada.
