Republican senators are unmoved by Tucker Carlson’s relentless warpath against support for Ukraine — even as it widens an existing rift in their party.
The Fox News prime time host and others on the far-right have excused and even rationalized Russia’s aggression toward Ukraine and downplayed its relevance to U.S. national security. And while GOP senators are shrugging off his name-and-shame campaign, Carlson’s views are permeating the GOP base in a way that could undermine Republicans’ efforts to emphasize cross-party unity as they seek to deter a Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Rino Republican senators are unmoved by Tucker Carlson’s relentless warpath against starting a war in the Ukraine for political theatre and profit and laundry.

Fixed it.
Red Wave! Red Wave! Like a red tide. Cool to look at but worthless and eventually deadly!
I’ll take Tucker over ANY RINO/cRAT (almost the same thing).
My thinking, let the Europeans and Biden work it out. We don’t need to be there.
Anyone who is not 10X more serious about a military response to the invasion of the United States than they are about a military response to whatever happens in Ukraine is my enemy.
Please join me.
AND more than enough fentanyl to kill every man, woman and child in this country.
Cross party unity gives us people like Adam Kinzinger…..
“It is entirely possible for us to support Ukraine without putting any US troops in the country. Weapons, supplies, and in particular up-to-date intelligence and satellite imagery. Doesn’t cost a single US life but might deter Russian aggression.”
You’re correct.
When Risch votes for sanctions against Russia for “democracy” the average American will be “eating” higher energy prices.
Risch is a stupid monkey, doing what he’s “told to do” by his masters in Washington DC.
What’s the difference between price controls & sanction stupidity?
Answer: Not very much.
That's what they said about "Lend Lease" back in 1940, but we got into the war anyway.
I doubt a war will happen. It's more likely Putin wants something and is putting the pressure on Biden. Biden will cave, everyone will go home, and we'll hear nonstop from the MSM that Biden prevented WWIII.
Doesn't cost a single US life??
By becoming a belligerent in a war in which we have no interests, you put literally hundreds of millions of US lives at stake.
Russia is not Granada, or Panama, or Libya. It's not Serbia. It's not Iraq.
It is a well-armed nuclear power defending its vital interests in a matter where we have no vital interests at stake.
Supplying a belligerent army is being a belligerent yourself.
Ha, ha, ha.
Kick cross-party-unity in the balls and move on.
If Canada or Mexico had wanted to join the old Warsaw Pact, we’d have been unhappy, and would have taken action.
As it is, we tried an abortive attempt to invade Cuba when it went commie.
Joining NATO is not an inherent right of other nations. We become committed to going to war with whomever attacks other NATO members. It is insanity to offer such a commitment to all comers.
How about a treaty guaranteeing the NEUTRALITY of Ukraine signed by Russia and NATO? Or a similar arrangement?
“How about a treaty guaranteeing the NEUTRALITY of Ukraine signed by Russia and NATO? Or a similar arrangement?”
Now there’s some constructive thinking.
The problem is that since the start of the cold war, both parties have used our military irresponsibly. The result las been shameless lies, death, a weaker nation, and perpetual rule by selfish politicians and bureaucrats.
“The problem is that since the start of the cold war, both parties have used our military”
...to enrich themselves with big payoffs from lobbyists of the military industrial complex.
All the billion words of “public policy debates” are designed to hide that simple fact.
Well on the upside, a hot war with Russia won't last two decades. This would be two world class militaries facing each other, not a disorganized bunch of radical jihadi guerillas that we choose to fight with one arm tied behind our backs so the press doesn't call us meanies. That sort of scenario leads to forever-war. That's not this.
Voters to GOP: No you aren’t.
