André Pratte: The longer convoy protesters paralyze Ottawa, the more they damage their cause
National Post ^ | February 01, 2022 | André Pratte

Posted on 02/02/2022 4:23:34 AM PST by Kriggerel

The organizers of the “Freedom Convoy” that has paralyzed downtown Ottawa over the past five days have wasted an extraordinary opportunity to make their protest something other than the “fringe” movement met with the prime minister’s scorn. The deplorable acts committed by some participants have not only disrespected monuments and intimidated people; they have deprived of credibility and impact what could have been a legitimate and powerful expression of democratic dissent.

Yeah, I take back what I said yesterday about the National Post occasionally publishing some common sense. Nah, looks like they're right back to toeing the official MSM line, which is getting shriller and shriller with the blatant lies.

Also, in direct response to the person who asked me why I am posting links to "Fake News" in a previous thread, it's quite simple: I believe it's always a good idea to keep track of what's being said by the other side. Ignoring it doesn't make it go away. I may be unable to go to Ottawa myself, but the least I can do, in some small way, is to flip over a few rocks and expose a few lies...

Just a little damage. The Doolittle raid did a little damage too. But it made a point. Let’s hope the govt gets the point here.

André Pratte of the 'National Post' misspoke. The correct statement is
"the longer Pfascist politicians continue their illegal diktats, the more they damage their cause."

I can just picture André looking down his nose as he typed this. The kind of person who thinks milk comes from the back of the grocery store, and vegetables slice themselves into little packages for his convenience.

Oh, if those pesky peasants would stop rebelling and go back to bowing and scraping to their masters, we could all go back to the glories of socialism.

Now you can see why the people of Paris finally dragged Louis XVI out into the street and chopped off his head. The elites NEVER want to give any ground to the people. They think the people are dirty and stupid and should just shut up and take any crumbs they are given.

The author, wanting to pretend to be for peaceful protests, spews lame excuses for opposing peaceful protests.

But the blm crowd destroyed areas of many cities the last couple years and for that we’re changing history books and education curricula for them, and showering them with government freebies.

Does "disrespecting monuments" include government removing statues?

. . . disrespected monuments and intimidated people . . .

Does the scribe possibly mean like the Antifa/BLM mobs did in the summer of 2020 with full support of the media? I didn't think so.

Funny how you never hear them say things like:

"...The longer BLM protesters burn cities, loot stores, block roads, and assault people, the more they damage their cause..."

I’m amazed at how uniformly hateful the coverage, whenever there is some coverage of the trucker strike, is from the mainstream media. Even after twenty years of liberal media bias being right there out there in the open, I really didn’t think the amount of venom contained in these hit pieces was possible.

Surely the media doesn’t think their derisive smears are news right? Don’t they understand they have a customer base that they have to write for? Apparently not. Every journalist in the mainstream has elected to try to cater to an increasingly narrow and ideologically rigid viewpoint to get clicks from a smaller and smaller group of people. It’s really fascinating that truckers could do this too.

They need to turn public opinion against the truckers and anyone who resists government tyranny.

When the food starts to run out, people will start to rebel. They want the rebellion to be against the truckers and the supporters.

Miss the point much? The writer is a moron.

When people are serious enough to go to these lengths to make their point this dramatically, they do not need some virtue-signaling pinhead to tell them how to protest more to his liking.
