My girlfriend’s dad had what was called a minor stroke and was never the same again.

It affected his ability to walk most of all early on, and he went steadily downhill physically and mentally for six years until he passed three months ago.

This guy was only 49 years of age. Which is way too young for a stroke. But look at Dianne Feinstein at age 88, and Grassley from Iowa at age 88. Both are too old to be in the senate

The Supreme Court largely governs itself in terms of procedure. Congress is, I believe, both hemmed in a bit more by the constitution and a lot more by 200+ years of accumulated rules.

The rules are whatever the Dems say they are.

But doesn't there have to be a vote in the Senate to change the rules? And wouldn't the outcome be 50-49 with no tie (because Lujan can't vote)?

Rules are largely for people who follow rules.

Dems don’t abide by rules and nobody penalizes them for it.

They routinely abuse their power without consequences.

If I was a Dem I wouldn’t give a damn what Republicans say or think because they are no deterrent and have no credibility on anything.

So, its little wonder that the Dems continuously push the envelope and test supposed boundaries. And why shouldn’t they when there is nothing to fear?

Article specified ā€œstroke in the cerebellumā€ and that heā€™d undergone decompressive surgery, but not whether ischemic or hemorrhagic.

Sorry to hear your story. Everyone reacts differently. I know an A-list guitarist who had a stroke and couldn’t play for 4 years. Walked with a cane. He’s been playing again at full speed for about 8 years, still uses the cane sometimes. Otherwise healthy. He refuses to go on the road again though.

"Thus no confirmation hearing/vote for new SCOTUS nominee..."

You have more confidence in Markowski, Collins, Romney & Graham than I do.
