Some NYPD cops who have refused to get vaccinated have a new February deadline to get the jab – or else they will get canned, The Post has learned.
The updated guidance to the city’s municipal worker COVID-19 vaccine mandate was detailed in a Sunday night letter from the Sergeants Benevolent Association to its members.
With regard to the NYPD, new hires in the department who haven’t shown proof of a second dose and those who were placed on unpaid leave for initially failing to comply with the October 2021 mandate face termination if they aren’t fully vaccinated by Feb. 11.
It’s unclear how many cops will be affected by the updated deadline. Four detectives represented by the Detectives’ Endowment Association are on unpaid leave for failing to comply with the mandate, according to a letter from the union’s president, Paul DiGiacomo.

I will have to make that decision myself soon. I am so done with this city. I have lived here for over 30 years and now if I don't comply with this mandate I'm out of a job and will be forced out of New York. These leaders are evil and they do not care one bit for the lives they ruin. All they want is compliance to their will and nothing else.
Now would be the perfect time to bring NYC traffic to a halt with a truckers protest.

At this point you might as well play out the string—there is at least a 50-50 shot they will either keep pushing out the deadline or throw in the towel completely.

Many would welcome it. NY leaders have no opposition and don’t care what anyone says or do. Not even the courts. The city population is complainant for the most part but without any push back things will just get worse and worse. A trucker protest would maybe wake them up to the fact that the world does not revolve around Manhattan.

The latter caused outrage, the former is applauded. Sad.

Make no mistake. This is New York City affecting a layoff without having to go through the legal process. The city is broke and its future looks bleak.
Supposedly, omicron now makes,up 99 plus % of virus cases in the us, and vaccines do not workagaisnt omicron- heck they barely worked agaisnt covid 19.
Any traction for mandates is dissipating. Those cramming the jab and lockdowns will scurry for the shadows by July 4.
Your right the that is a forced layoff of freedom-loving workers. Unfortunately the Biden Admin has given billions to the city so far and until the democrats are out of power they will keep giving the city billions. Once that money stops NY is screwed.
Unfortunately, NYC traffic is at a halt often enough that nobody would know that any particular halt was actually a protest.
