WAUKESHA, Wisc. — Nearly two months after the Waukesha Christmas parade, 11-year-old Jessalyn Torres is speaking for the first time.
Her life changed forever when she was struck in the middle of the five points intersection in Waukesha.
It’s been and continues to be a long road to recovery. Now she’s back at home, laughing and enjoying time with loved ones.
TMJ4 News spent time with Torres and her family on Friday and witnessed some of those precious moments.
Moments that are a lot different these days...
"Not being able to walk, it makes things a whole lot more of a process,” Torres said.
That process is part of what keeps Jessalyn's wheelchair and walker always within arm's reach. She longs to someday get back to what she loves most, dancing.
She said she’s taking it all day by day, but her family does expect her to make a full recovery.

Oh, is this from the unintended acceleration event?
Oh, is this from the unintended acceleration event?
No bail required these days in a lot of places.
Headline I would have used:
Innocent child victim of black BLM member’s attack, is make gradual recovery.
What’s Waukesha? We need to hear about Charlottesville.
Her family expect for her to make a full recovery: Great news!
“Her life changed forever when she was struck in the middle of the five points intersection in Waukesha.” “She was marching with the Waukesha X-Treme dance team when she was struck”
Struck in the middle of an intersection? Well, that’s what can happen when an eleven year old goes into the middle of an intersection, dancing. What struck her, was it a fist, open hand slap or maybe they meant she was struck by a bicycle, car, meteor, bird? (Sarc)
God bless her as she recovers.
Ah. A parade victim. Not a victim of an unhinged racist.
But it makes me understand now why all of those people are locked up from 1/46/2021.
That “Parading” is a hazardous business.
Nothing about the perp, a member of America’s #1 certified victim group that enjoys special privileges. You can find him after a few google searches. Even in those, not a word about his membership in that victim group. And it’s the car that drove into the girl all by itself, with no help from any human.
Thank God! I’m so glad to read this news about Jessalyn.
I have prayed for her every day since she was almost killed by that evil man.
God bless you, Jessalyn!
You’ll have to take my SUV outta my cold dead (snow covered) drive way.—*
May God grant her more healing. She still needs a wheelchair or walker and has been away from friends and school for months. All because a vile angry guy out on low bail sped the SUV down the middle of a parade full of kids and others.
“That “Parading” is a hazardous business.”
Yeah, it can put you in solitary confinement for a year with no charges being laid.
It’s astonishing, isn’t it? In our own country.
