The health commissioner under disgraced New York Governor Andrew Cuomo confirmed Thursday that thousands more nursing home residents died of COVID-19 than the state's official tallies had previously acknowledged, dealing another blow to his image as a pandemic hero.
The surprise development, after the state for months refused to divulge its true numbers, showed that at least 12,743 long-term care residents have died of the virus as of January 19 this year - far greater than the previous official tally of 8,505 as of that day. The 49 percent jump in deaths from what was originally reported marks New York's toll as one of the highest in the nation.
Those numbers are consistent with a report released just hours earlier by state Attorney General Letitia James charging that the nursing home death count could be off by 49 percent, largely because New York is one of the only states to count just those who died on facility grounds, not those who later died in the hospital.

Bet there “investigations” don’t turn out the way it sounds. Bet it is a situation where the government commits a crime and then investigates and prosecutes the victims for it.
The homes are going to get the hit not the true guilty party.

They will blame the nursing homes when they were given no choice. Why not investigate the former governor and public health officials who mandated COVID patients be placed there. Family memebers whose loved ones were endangered need to file a class action lawsuit against the state of New York.
The AG is going after the wrong people.
They were ORDERED to take those patients by cuomo.

What about all of those other institutions, like hospitals.

How many grannies were killed by the above governors and then labeled as Covid Deaths in the early days of the pandemic in 2020?
How many of the so called nursing homes in these states used Midazolam and Morphine or M&M to perform hospice end of life on senior citizens, who had not signed a legal end of life form?

Disgusting. Especially since Trump had arranged the medical ship and a ‘pop up hospital ‘ to help with these patients. There was no excuse to send them to nursing homes.
On top of it, his directive shielded the nursing homes from law suits

They’re investigating the homes, but won’t punish the one person who intimidated, and forced those homes to follow his illegal dictates?
