New York’s Fifth Avenue was a “sea of blue” Friday as police gathered to honor fallen New York Police Officer Jason Rivera.
Rivera was one of two NYPD officers shot during a response to a domestic disturbance call on January 21, 2022. Twenty-two-year-old Rivera was killed by the suspect’s gunfire, and a second officer, 27-year-old Wilbert Mora, was left in critical condition and died on Tuesday.
Officers showed up on Fifth Avenue by the thousands to honor Rivera, whose funeral was held at New York City’s historic St. Patrick’s Cathedral.
Rivera and Mora were ambushed while walking down a hall toward the suspect during the January 21, 2022, domestic call.
The suspect who shot the officers was on probation for a 2003 felony narcotics conviction in New York City.

I asked my wife that last evening. I had not seen it before.
I'm annoyed there is even a thing like the NYPD flag. Why not put the American flag on the coffin? Or are we all now so divided that we use micro tribal flags to honor our dead?

Of the pics you posted, I see two masked, grieving women and an army of uniformed troops who would escort those two women out of a restaurant if they weren’t vaccinated or showed proof of a vaccine card..
She’s right to say they aren’t safe.
Before the pfascist NYC policies were in place,I too would see a sea of police officers and a grieving widow..
They lost that by having to follow orders..
With that many cops on the payroll, why is crime so bad?

My God! What if there were families at the museum of natural history or burger king without a vax card!!
Who would have harassed and arrested them? I hate to think that new Yorkers were put at risk like this. Shame.
I'm not offended, just annoyed that they couldn't use the American flag. I don't want to see us continue to be broken up into micro tribes the way the communists want us to do. When we are fighting each other, they have more control. By creating and using such a flag in that manner, NYC cops seem to be turning inward and abandoning the nation as a whole. It's how I see it, anyway.
As for it being a cop's funeral, there were 24 police officers shot in January so far, with four killed. There is a video circulating of Border Patrol agents angrily talking to their superior about the situation at the border. Crime is so far out of control that I don't know if we can ever get our streets back. So while I deeply sympathize with the loss of that officer and the others killed in the line of duty, I would rather see them get furious. I would rather see them proudly display the American flag. I would love to see that kind of massive outpouring from cops all over the country. I would love to see them march on Washington the way the truckers are. We, all of us, have got to push back against all the communist/socialist poison being flooded into this nation's bloodstream before it's too late.
Or as their Representative calls them, “the biggest gang in NYC”.
Bragg and Adams need to be tried, convicted, and sentenced to be one time rope testers for giving aid and comfort to the enemies of the United States.
And leave their carcasses to rot off the noose.
