A US Department of Defense staffer with top-secret clearance stole the identities of dozens of people from a work SharePoint system to apply for loans totaling nearly a quarter of a million dollars.
Kevin Lee, 41, of Chula Vista, southern California, pleaded guilty on Wednesday to wire fraud.
Lee, who worked for Uncle Sam's Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) as an analyst, raided the organization's Microsoft SharePoint system for people's private data to pull off his nefarious scheme. It's said that he applied for and was able to get as much as $244,500 in loans under other people's names to cover his own debts, personal expenses, and bills.

Sounds like he’s likely CCP, so it’s all good...

Wow. He might possibly lose his security clearance over something like that. Depends on his political registration and if he has close ties to China.
Hang em high.

No. He’ll be asked to take early retirement at double his current rate.
Unfortunately, that is probably closer to the truth, than anything.
What a dip shit.
One may institute all the cyber security available to protect one’s data. But the human element will always fail you.
sharepoint to house this kind of data????? of all the microsoft tools sharepoint has to be the sorriest.
He is of Asian descent, the Lees of China. I was afraid he was of Robert E. Lee descent.
Too bad he’s DoD so we can’t look him up on Federal Salaries and see how much money he can’t live off of.
What gets me is that he went to all this trouble and risk for a mere quarter mil? Getting a TS with SCI isn’t easy. He had to be pulling down close 10 150k a year anyway!
This is barely more than a catalytic converter thief makes.
If I’m doing crime, it’s going to be Joker level or nothing.
If you know his GS level, you can look up his annual salary. DOD in most cases uses the standard OPM GS system.
