I mean, I know nothing and want to know nothing about Biden’s dampness levels. He’s certainly a sock puppet, though.
Test drove one, it had plenty of room for four inside. The Model S accelerates from 0 to 60 MPH in 2.3 seconds. That basically makes it the fastest production car in the world. It accelerates faster than most Porsche’s and beats the Corvette by over a full second. It really is not a golf cart.
If only the technology was there for fast charging and a backup for cold emergency conditions like car pileup.
Fix those problems. Its almost there but not quite for me.
The resident = Toe Jam:-)
“It’s an electric appliance, a fancy golf cart with a cool body.”
Yeah, just like a 747 is a hang glider with an engine.
My oldest son is an operator at a nuke plant. DiL works there too. They have a ~40 mile round trip from their house to the plant. Free charging stations are available for use by plant staff. They own two Tesla Y models, and are very happy with them.
The Y isn’t as fast as the S, but it’s no slouch. With performance mode engaged the Y will pin you to the back of your seat when you put the pedal to the metal.
Forbes is a weak sister when it comes to being conservative and even handed.
I don’t think that Musk should be commenting on Biden.
Why not?
The Biden administration has a lot of ways of screwing Musk if they want to.
The left is already suspicious of Musk.
But Tesla stock is back up today.
I would say a wooden puppet...paging Walter.
Trivial aside: what do your son and DiL call their EV’s accelerator pedal? I’m thinking “gas pedal” is going to stick around since “accelerator pedal” and even just “accelerator” sound kind of nerdy. “Step on the gas” will probably be common usage 50 years from now.
Elon is extremely smart. He exercised stock options that were due to expire, which meant he would pay billions in unrealized capital gains taxes - buying them at a bit over $6 each while paying taxes for value over $1000 each (the capital gains part). Meanwhile, he sells off stock that he has held for years that cost him nothing except for his labor. All while the public thought he was selling off 10 percent of his stock to give billions of tax dollars to the government. Net effect - he owned more stock than before, and got richer in the process.
I wouldn't say everybody else is a sucker, as Tesla is a valuable company making huge profits that will only double in the next couple years. The stock value will also double.
Yep, even in a Tesla it’s still the gas pedal.
juice pedal... as in give it more juice?
hehehe
There was an economic summit on Electric Vehicles last year.
Tesla was not invited. At the summit, Mustard Pants heaped
praise on GM for it's leadership in the new EV tech. he
didn't reference Tesla at all.
Musk wasn't too pleased. I don't blame him.
It's just laughable to avoid Tesla. It shows the Biden
administration as being without a single clue on the matter.
All the deep state knows is schmoozing, bribery and threats. Musk is immune. They’ll need to invent a crime to prosecute him with to gain control over him.
They seem like great cars under the right circumstances. It sounds like your son is in a great situation for having a Tesla. I was really impressed with the one I test drove but we elected to get another SUV instead.
“Did you really think we want those laws observed?” said Dr. Ferris. “We want them to be broken. You’d better get it straight that it’s not a bunch of boy scouts you’re up against... We’re after power and we mean it... There’s no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What’s there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced or objectively interpreted – and you create a nation of law-breakers – and then you cash in on guilt. Now that’s the system, Mr. Reardon, that’s the game, and once you understand it, you’ll be much easier to deal with.”
-Ayn Rand.
For real. Remember that the DoJ went after Microsoft many years ago and backed off when Gates started making political donations? Musk is too popular for that right now. But they’ll come after him eventually. That’s what they do.
