Ukraine Agree to Uphold Donbas Ceasefire in “Tough” Negotiation That Excluded Biden and the US

On Wednesday, several high-ranking officials from Russia and Ukraine met in Paris, France to discuss the tense situation that has developed over the former Russian territory, holding what Moscow described as a “tough” negotiation.

After a nerve-wracking eight-hour back and forth, the two sides agreed to put aside their differences and uphold a previously agreed upon ceasefire in Ukraine’s eastern Donbas region.

German and French officials were also present as arbiters for the seemingly highly-productive meeting. The quartet of countries had come together in 2014 and 2015 during the Donbas war to hammer out the original peace treaty, so they came together once again, attempting to find a workable solution for all parties that does not result in catastrophic conflict.

According to ZeroHedge:

“The talks were held at the Elysee, the residence of French President Emmanuel Macron. In a statement, the Elysee said that the envoys “support unconditional respect for the ceasefire and full adherence to the ceasefire strengthening measures of July 22, 2020, regardless of differences on other issues relating to the implementation of the Minsk agreements.”

After the meeting, Russian delegate Dmitry Kozak explained that “despite all the differences in interpretations [between Russia and Ukraine], we agreed that the ceasefire must be maintained by all the parties in line with the accords.”

Too bad, Warhawks. You’re gonna have to wait.

Bidet would have been an embarrassment. He probably thinks the Minsk Agreements are about banning fur coats.

Ukraine, Russia, France and Germany. Ukraine and Russia agreed to a cease fire. So how seriously you want to take that is up to every one’s own judgment. Personally, I don’t give it a dime’s worth of credence.

Kabuki Theater?

If you were going to invade, you’d probably seek to create some diplomatic cover.

No ifs, ands or buts.

As sure as the sunrise.

It's telling that the French and the Germans were there, and not the US.

After our allies had to go in after our withdrawal in Afghanistan and get their own nationals out, it's pretty clear that they're not going to leave the Important Things up to us.

Good!

Exactly the two that need to be working it out. I have little hope Russia will adhere to it though.

Joe Biden is - irrelevant.

He has demonstrated no autonomy in his actions, as somebody else with access to the Oval Office is just feeding him lines, which he regurgitates more or less as written on the teleprompter.

Not merely incompetent. Totally Out to Lunch, to borrow a phrase from my youth.

Putin: “you give us all the dirt you have on the Bidens and we won’t crush you.”
Ukraine: “ok”

Wouldn’t it be ironic if a real “Russian Dossier” appeared on the scene!

Lol...I read somewhere that the Ukraine President told Biden to ‘calm down’ today.

I guess the Europeans, Russians, and Ukrainians over there do not want to die in nuclear fire for a wag-the-dog exercise to keep mindless Creepy Joe Biden in office.

Every crisis under Obama he’d appoint Biden as his “point man” (bag man) and he’d go in and cut some deal against U.S. interest and pocket the cash.

Judging by the rhetoric Biden was setting up for a big dollar payoff and he’d worried about the Ukraine dirt coming back on him.

Glad these two - with a long shared history - will get together and avoid war.

Biden will have to find another dog to wag.

Obviously Biden and this administration are out of the loop regarding anything on foreign affairs. But the media ‘here’ will just continue to prop him up with all sorts of created stories.

Biden will continue to get more and more unstable. ....and media will continue to prop him up daily.
