Russia says US gives written response on Ukraine demands

MOSCOW (AP) — The United States on Wednesday delivered a written response to the Kremlin’s security demands on Ukraine and NATO amid soaring tensions that Moscow is planning to invade its neighbor, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

U.S. Ambassador to Moscow John Sullivan handed over the response to Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko.

The U.S. hasn’t made its response public, but already has warned that Russia’s top demands are unacceptable.

Moscow has demanded guarantees that NATO will never admit the country and other ex-Soviet nations as members and that the alliance will roll back troop deployments in other former Soviet bloc nations. Some of these, like the membership pledge, are nonstarters for the U.S. and its allies, creating a seemingly intractable stalemate that many fear can only end in a war.

Russia has warned it would quickly take “retaliatory measures” if the U.S. and its allies reject its demands.

If this was the Trump administration the contents would already have been leaked.

Isn’t that a bit racist to call it an “invasion”? They’re just undocumented immigrants with guns.

The Ukraine Drama is designed to boost the image, reputation and popularity of Joe Biden.

I will have no part of that.

Russia has asked for security guarantees considering that NATO wants to base its forces in nations or supply the forces of nations with weapons, nations close to Russia.

Russia has demands and we will see if there is a way forward with the Biden response.

Yes, good point. With Schiff and Pelosi, in coordination with deep-state media hype, demanding an investigation.

ICYMI
@PentagonPresSec
notes Russia has moved “....logistics and sustainment and medical support and aviation support, I mean, it’s the whole combined force, combined arms approach is how I would describe it.” (US was watching closely for signs of this)

I note how the resident can’t even pick up the phone and talk directly to Vladimir (as Trump used to call him and sit next to him and have a frank talk in front of the media)!

The response isn’t public here because Biden is asking about the security of his 10 percent of whatever gains would be realized. That’s why... Did any of you expect anything like sovereignty, foreign good will and democracy-in-general to occur? Dream on. This is about a man who has to wear diapers because he can’t figure out who keeps crapping in his pants.

Quite reasonable demands considering we promised the Russians no eastward expansion of NATO back in 1990 and broke that promise.

“Russia has warned it would quickly take “retaliatory measures”

Want to know what those are?

“You euro nations dont get any more gas or oil.”

That happens and we will see the alliance collapse within a short while.

Since pig face bidet has destroyed all of the energy sector Trump set up, the USA wont be able to supplement that energy to hold off the Russian boycott.

All I know is there have been four times since 1700 that western powers have tried to invade Russia, three of which ended in total disaster for the invader. The fourth was WWI where the German and Austro-Hungarian empires took on the Russians over Serbia, producing a horrible, all-consuming blood bath that nearly destroyed Western Civilization. We have NO compelling security interest in Ukriane and should stay out of the Russians’ back yard, just as we want them to stay out of ours.

Just looking at the map...if Russia was to invade Ukraine
wouldn’t that put them up against countries that are already
in NATO? Something they say they are trying to avoid.

Maybe Putin should ask NATO for a membership for Russia...

Putin's demand that he get all the "captive nations" back is reasonable? What is that 100 million people?
