After nearly two years of America pursuing politically motivated policies to “eradicate” an unstoppable respiratory virus, an increasing number of liberal politicians, commentors and publications have begun to speak out about the failures and human cost of lockdowns and the vaccine/mask mandates. They, along with many on the right, are applauding those who now claim that government Covid policy was a “catastrophic moral crime.”
Who are these charlatans that are embarking on a campaign to exonerate themselves from their complicity in a “catastrophic moral crime”? Many of them were at the forefront of spreading ideologically motivated lies. The bureaucrats, the politicians and the Democrat party mouthpieces in the corporate media lied about the virus because they believed that honesty would not generate sufficient fear and trepidation in the overall population to justify the institution of a quasi-police state and the unconstitutional revamping of election law in key states.
These are the people who 22 months ago chose to ignore statistics from Italy and other countries as well as the writings of world renowned scientists that refuted the fictitious justification for mass societal lockdowns. Instead, they reflexively regurgitated any and all government-sponsored falsehoods. Further, they mindlessly continued to do so during the entirety of the pandemic.
Regardless of the actual data or the human cost, they marched in lockstep to whatever the leftist-dominated federal medical bureaucracy and the self-serving Democrat party hierarchy declared as being indisputable.
These are the people who vociferously condemned, ostracized and demanded censorship of those medical professionals and conservative journalists that knew not to trust the media and the medical bureaucracy and who shouted from the rooftops that the nation had embarked on a calamitous course.

We discipline our children as we love them and desire that they make better choices in the future. If we do it out of anger we both lose.
In my town the leos wouldn’t dare try to enforce this chickenshiite. People are angry.
Sort of odd how this is all phrased as past tense.
US death counts are rising. If current levels hold, without even increasing further, we’re on our way to 30% above normal age 65+ death count.
One sort of does not care much about measures taken to try to reduce that. You somewhat have a choice. Do something or do nothing. That’s not complicated. Do something or do nothing.
Prediction: Death counts will fall soon, as they did last February. This will generate claims of various measures having been successful. Some will say it’s because eliminating mandates freed up immunity. Some will say the vax totals finally took effect.
Then come summer another death count surge will begin. NO ONE will remember the claims they just made. They’ll hope everyone else forgets them, too.

Healthy people over 65 need to stay out of the hospital if at all possible. We are the ones they are after most. I’m glad now that most of this vax/mask idiocy hasn’t been forced where I live. We are mostly business as usual here with only doctor’s offices and other medical facilities requiring masks. Nobody ever asks about your vax status. The only people you see in public with a mask on are the elderly that have other health problems.
I have evolved over time in my thinking. At the start of this mess I wasn’t sure so I was cautious. All I do now is stay out of crowds. I will NEVER take their clot shot. I am completely for people making their own decisions. I will never be for the government mandating anything.
Including those right here on FR.

I was roasted pretty good at the beginning for being cautious. I remember smallpox. I remember polio. I had relatives that survived the Spanish Flu. I had relatives that didn’t.
My state was never in total lockdown. The first two weeks or so everybody was cautious, but we got over it.
When they started talking about a vax being ready soon, I knew it was all a scam because safe vaccines aren’t ready that fast and if this thing was related to the common cold, they were lying about a vax. The more they tried to mandate it the more I knew it was a bad thing. Mandating masks was bad enough and a red flag of things to come. Forcing people to be injected with “who knows what” was my red line. When they started forbidding alternative prevention and treatments, I knew they were up to nothing good.
The most infuriating thing to me right now is the forced censorship to promote the lie. People need to be able to make an informed decision and with one side censoring the other side, that won’t happen. I believe in choice even if it’s not my choice. After two years, we have more information, but it’s being suppressed.
I haven’t paid much attention in recent months. This pandemic ended for me back in May of 2020.
Yes we do have some of them around here on FR. I think most of them fall into two categories around here, but I can’t rule out a third: Malice.
The first two are Fearful, and the Sheep.
The Fearful are just that and will do anything they are told.
The Sheep are the people who say that if the government tells you to do it, you do it.
Agreed. I am sure everyone remembers who had a democrat taliban party sign in their yard last fall. It is not just the politicians who need to realize their actions have consequences.
