Report: Pathetic RINO Missouri Governor Mike Parson Is Pushing “Ranked Choice” Voting In Attempt To Help Democrats In State

Pathetic RINO Governor Mike Parson is reportedly pushing “ranked choice” voting in this Trump +15 state in order to flip several statewide and national seats to Democrats in upcoming elections.

This is the latest disgusting move by the weak Republican placeholder governor.

Missouri voters resoundingly reject the Marxist totalitarian policies of the modern-day left. But Governor Parson wants to change that by implementing the “ranked choice” voting in the state.

The RINOs in Missouri are in a league of their own.

A ranked-choice voting system (RCV) is an electoral system in which voters rank candidates by preference on their ballots. If a candidate wins a majority of first-preference votes, he or she is declared the winner. If no candidate wins a majority of first-preference votes, the candidate with the fewest first-preference votes is eliminated. First-preference votes cast for the failed candidate are eliminated, lifting the second-preference choices indicated on those ballots. A new tally is conducted to determine whether any candidate has won a majority of the adjusted votes. The process is repeated until a candidate wins an outright majority.

The process allows Democrats the ability to steal seats in a red state like Missouri. So why would RINO Governor Parson support this?

It’s a way for Dems to win every time, simply by having multiple candidates on the same ballot, whereas the GOP would just field one candidate.

They would come in 4th or 5th in a five way race...............

This could help Rs, if you assume most Libertarian next choice would be the Rs (and not have Greens help the Ds).

Libertarians could vote for their candidate, but if they could vote the R as their 2nd choice, assuming the L gets knocked out in the first round, that is a way to get a R winner.

Of course that assumes the Libertarians would choose a R next, which I think they generally would but not always.

I believe this is what helped to move needle to left in California.

I know, he supports a bunch of them that need to go.

We will never Make America Great Again by re-electing Assistant Democrats.

IMHO: Ranked choice voting seems good theoretically, but depends on the critical assumption that the electorate knows enough about the candidates to rationally rank their choices.

They don’t. They barely know enough to decide among the two main candidates. And, maybe that should be “rarely,” rather than “barely.”

That’s my opinion, based on my nonparametric review of my own voting history.

It’s worse in South Carolina.

The “reddest” states elect the worst Assistant Democrats.

Doesn’t work that way. There is NO ‘splitting the vote.’ The winner MUST have over 50% of the vote.

The only way this benefits the Democrats is if the Left vote is being distracted by lunatic fringe third parties. When their candidates are dropped, their votes might eventually end up going to the Democrats.

I would actually like to see this tested in a statewide election.

“For what it’s worth, except for much of St.L. and K.C. Missouri is overwhelmingly conservative. “

so the 5 million other “conservatives” can make up for a decade of sending PigDog McCaskill to DC and dump this voter fraud scheme at the outset?

The rest of the country awaits.

Once this crap gets put in, it’s like kudzu and takes over.

> I don’t see how this would help the Democrats.

Its intended to insure the "uniparty" keeps people like Trump from getting elected.

So if a Trump-like candidate runs, the GOPe will run their preferred Republican candidate, so that the two Republicans will lose to the Democrat.

So RCV is also a tool to prevent us from primarying out bad Republicans as well.

MO has a unique opportunity to tip into a conservative supermajority. Not every gop critter welcomes the moment.

Pig Dog (I like the name) won her first Senate seat by a 50,000 margin. She won her second term by running ads in the Republican primary for the man she wanted to run against, Todd Akin, who immediately obliged her by saying that rape victims could naturally defend against pregnancy.

She lost in 2018 to Hawley, who is a pretty good Senator. MO has two democrat congress critters, both from 100% safe democrat districts. Republicans enjoy veto-proof majorities in both houses of the General Assembly and I believe there is one democrat holding statewide office at this time.

I have no idea why Parsons is even considering ‘ranked choice’ voting. I do not see it passing the General Assembly.

I don’t know where it is reported that he supports Ranked Choice Voting but it is a secret to the citizens of the state. I think this article and the posting of it is a democrat misinformation trick. Parsons is the governor of the Free State of Missouri; no mask mandates are allowed in the state. He isn’t perfect but he ain’t bad.

“Its intended to insure the “uniparty” keeps people like Trump from getting elected.”

How? Not arguing but would like to understand how this system would have prevented Trump from prevailing.

I think this type of system could help either Rs or Ds depending on who all runs and how many are running. I see the Ds with an advantage simply because they are more top-down regimented than Rs who are like cats. Ds would more likely work together to game such a system than Rs.

As I said elsewhere, it doesn’t work that way. The winner has to have over 50% of the vote. There is no split vote. Really, that only happens in regular voting.

So unless lesser ‘Pubbie candidate’s voters are spoilsports and have “Democrat” as their second choice, one of the two ‘Pubbies gets dropped and, presumably, the votes to the surviving ‘Pubbie.

A quick look doesn’t sound encouraging:

The findings of the experiment were stark. I found that RCV produced significantly lower levels of voter confidence, voter satisfaction, and ease of use. It also increased the perception that the voting process was slanted against the respondent’s party. Similarly, I found that it increased the amount of time it took to vote by nearly 12 seconds per candidate than voting using a plurality ballot.
