Harriet Hageman, the Donald Trump-endorsed candidate seeking to unseat Rep. Liz Cheney, won big Saturday in a straw poll of House candidates held by the Wyoming Republican State Central Committee.
The secret ballot of party activists awarded Hageman 59 votes, Cheney six, state Sen. Anthony Bouchard, R-Cheyenne, two and Denton Knapp one. The vote comes eight months before the GOP primary.
“I think it’s a good sign. It’s not an endorsement, but these are the county activists” Hageman told the Star-Tribune after the vote.
The state party itself is not statutorily allowed to endorse a candidate in the primary.

Liz is toast.
Now for the 145 that voted for her in February...........
That should make the Cheneys happy.
“..Now for the 145 that voted for her in February...”
^THIS^ needs to happen...BIG TIME.
Harriet, avoid guns when near the Cheneys.
Cushy corporate gigs await Lizzie
Or is that avoid Cheney ‘s with guns?
Don’t discount the likelihood of Lez running as an inde, she’s a snake.
Maybe the party can’t endorse but it could disqualify Cheney.
All 12 of them?
Jackson ain’t that big...
If Cheney gets the nomination because of a flood of Democrats, Hageman should run as an independent in the general.
Trump’s election is stolen and we have to wait 2 years to respond while the left scoffs at our voting issues and corrections.
Liz votes for impeachment and we have to wait 2 years to dump her.
Conclusion: Our enemies ‘sting’ us and we can’t do anything about it. In the meantime the public’s short memory makes us look like sore losers.
Solution: How about going on offense for once instead of waiting for when McArthy becomes speaker?
3 down 7 to go. She’s toast IMO. Now for the other 6.....
“If Cheney gets the nomination because of a flood of Democrats, Hageman should run as an independent in the general.”
Wyoming adopted a Sore Loser Law in 1973. If a candidate is on the primary ballot for any party and lose they are prohibited from running as an independent or for another party.
Whoever wins the primary is in, the loser is out.
If Cheney were smart, or more likely have a smart advisor, she would switch parties before the primary, or at least drop out of the Republican party before the primary to preserve a run as an independent. Doing that would cost her any committee seats and leadership positions she now holds but I don’t see any other route for her unless the dems turn out en masse for her in the primary.
Those folks in Wyoming are smart. One of the better candidates bailed on the gop and is running on the Constitution Party. She’s waiting for Liz in case she somehow squeaks through the primary.
Any groups that are keeping track of all of the pro-MAGA candidates running for political office, at each and every level? I would like to have a complete list of all of the candidates that’s updated often, as more Trump endorsed candidates start running for political office.
But overall Wyoming and West Virginia are the two most pro-Trump states 70% in each state voted for President Trump.
