Every Black Mississippi senator walked out of the chamber Friday, choosing not to vote on a bill that sponsors said would prohibit the teaching of critical race theory in the state’s public schools and colleges and universities.

The historic, unprecedented walkout came over a vote on the academic theory that state education officials and Republican lawmakers acknowledge is not even taught in Mississippi. Republicans hold supermajority control of the Senate, meaning they can pass any bill without a single Democratic vote.

“We walked out as a means to show a visible protest to these proceedings,” state Sen. John Horhn, D-Jackson, said of the unprecedented action.

They should all be asked to explain what CRT is and what parts they agree with.

Let them walk right out of the state. All the way to California or New York.
Mississippi is doing really great right now.

Fire their asses for not doing their job. They could have voted no but it sounds like we’re dealing with single digit I.Q.s here who didn’t know that.

Funny if they came back after their phony grandstanding and found new separate drinking fountains, restrooms and the capitol building lunchroom seating.

They liked their separate ways so much the senate accommodated them.

That caucus lives in a racist dreamworld where it’s 1955 and they can’t go out without a deputy and his police dog watching them.

If you don’t vote for CRT, you ain’t black!

White and black “progressives” remain predisposed toward plantation slavery.

Given that crt elevates blacks to a superior status over whites, I can understand the black senator’s hypocrisy.

The Democrats don’t matter in Mississippi. Republicans hold a 2/3 majority.
