Gov. Ned Lamont won’t push for lawmakers to renew executive orders requiring certain state employees and teachers to either get vaccinated or tested for COVID-19.
He said that's due to both the large number of people who’ve gotten the COVID-19 shots and the “significant administrative burden” placed on state agencies and schools to regularly test unvaccinated staff.
Lamont said Thursday he still wants mandatory vaccinations for long-term care workers and employees at state-run hospitals. Lamont has provided legislative leaders with 11 executive orders he hopes they will extend.
Couldn't have anything to do with the fact that it is a election year and he is running again and needs to make it look like things go back to normal sooner than later.
Ned Lamont is governor of Connecticut since January 9, 2019. He is (of course) a Democrat.
Largest tax increase in CT history. Used taxpayer millions to push for toll roads. Got barely defeated. Will restart toll push if re-elected.
We call it ‘Dead with Ned’
CDC Director Walensky Says The CDC Is Changing From “Fully Vaxxed” To “Up To Date,” Meaning You’ll Have To Get Boosted To Remain “Fully Vaxxed”!
So, in order to avoid saying you need a booster to be fully vaxxed, the CDC is choosing to do an Orwellian language swap.
They are no longer using the term “fully vaccinated” because the definition could differ depending on how many jabs you’ve gotten and your eligibility. So now the term is “up to date.”
This means, if you have just gotten your second shot, you are up to date. That is until you are eligible for a booster. Then you are no longer up to date. In that case you must get a third shot to be fully vaccinated. And if you are eligible for a second booster, you HAVE TO GET IT, or else you aren’t uP tO dAtE.
And so on, and so forth, ad infinitum.
If the term is giving you trouble, just change the definition.
I’m sure the dictionaries and Google searches won’t be far behind on this language shift.

If the science is in place at the time of the mandate, it should require an end date to the mandate. If the science isn’t there, there is no basis for the mandate.
I guess the “science” only applies to certain state employees and not others according to Junior Lamont.
We kicked ours to the curb ASAP. It was costing us $$$. I was kinda hoping to get a free test every week
Wrong!
He is (of course) a communist...
Google Lamont’s family. He comes from a multi-generational nest of Communists and leftist sympathizers.
Lamont, you big dummy!
They may also be running from “fully vaxxed” because it implies fully protected. Up to date just means we’re only doing the best we can.
“They may also be running from “fully vaxxed” because it implies fully protected. Up to date just means we’re only doing the best we can.”
You are probably correct.
My question, is why now to use “Up to Date!”
From a communications standpoint, up to date is a great phrase. The contrast is quite negative (out of date, behind the times, etc) and helps feed the narrative about those backwards, anti-science people who just stick their head in the sand. /s
That’s where we need phrases like guinea pigs, test subjects, lab rats, trial run, volunteers for big pharma’s R & D and crash test dummies.
