Offshore U.S. Oil and Gas Is Critical to Lowering Energy Prices

While most Americans have never heard of it, the Interior Department’s five-year plan for offshore energy development is essential to maintaining our basic standard of living and keeping the prices for thousands of everyday goods and services low. At a time of record inflation and sky-high energy costs, it is critical that the Biden Administration show its energy and environmental leadership by moving forward with this offshore energy plan.

Since 1953, the U.S. Interior Secretary has been required by law to prepare a five-year plan to set a schedule for oil and gas leases in U.S. offshore waters. It is a lengthy, multi-year regulatory process with multiple stages for public comment, input and consultation.

It is one of the most lucrative federal programs in existence, often contributing more money to the U.S. Treasury than any other program except federal income taxes. It generates billions for states and local governments, creates tens of thousands or jobs all across the U.S. economy, and, most importantly, because it contributes more than 30% of our energy, offshore production ensures we all have the essential energy we need to keep our homes warm, lights on and economy thriving.

Law? As if brandon and his ilk care about that. Perhaps the "5 year plan" includes the 30 million acres they want to set aside in the Gulf of Mexico for wind generators? You know, to power 11 million homes. Anyone else find those numbers disturbing? Link in next comment.

From BOEM (Bureau of Ocean Energy Management?)

Will there be room for offshore oil rigs?

This collection of Antifa activists and buffoons passing for an Executive Branch is resolved to NOT drill for ONE more drop of oil nor ONE milliliter of natural gas. They intend to freeze all US production at current levels, regardless of pain or price, and gradually reduce it in favor of renewables. Expect shortages and prices at $4, even $5 a gallon at the pump.

The only hope is for Republicans to get control of both Houses of Congress to force Joe to allow new drilling. They will have to trade off something to get it, but at least there will be balance in the Force again.

The problem is that the primary energy industry is the last large bastion of entrepreneurship left uncontrolled by the left in the United States. Conservatives rule the genera so the genera must be crushed under brandon’s jack-booted thuggery.

The enviros are hitting again!
Lots of oil is drilled offshore. Norway and Great Britain get almost all of its oil off shore.
Why they can safely drill in pristine North Sea waters, but the USA cannot apparently do the same in our waters?!

Green Energy Policy is going to cause Global 3rd World FAMINE. It will starve 100,000,000 more children.

Natural gas dependent fertilizer plants are closed for lack of gas. 3rd world agriculture without imported fertilizer will crash. Next year’s harvest will be bad. The following harvest will be a disaster.

Green Energy Policy is causing Global FAMINE.

DEMS WANT higher gas prices.

They have done so for a long time.

I’ve made a bundle on oil stocks since Biden took office. You can only justify “green energy” costs if oil is far more expensive, the relative cost is just too high to justify otherwise. So make oil cost more.

Other forces, like many in the D party, want to destroy this country, so it’s not even about “green energy” - it’s about collapsing the country and imposing communism.

Energy independence is a national security issue. This entire narrative is absurd.

You say that like you think the Democrats don't want that.

"...30 million acres they want to set aside in the

"

Well, yeah.
It's not as if salt water will corrode any of the parts.
Like my Dad's 1974 Jeep Wagoneer that he used for surf fishing.
Took it down of the beach for years- after obtaining the proper legal
beach buggy permits from the municipalities involved - for years.

That Jeep disintegrated into rust right in the driveway.
He could have had the under-carriage and under-body
washed repeatedly to get rid of the salt - and perhaps
treated with anti-rust coating.
But he didn't.

Fuel prices are just a symptom of a corrupt government filled with activists. Radicals in positions where they usurp power and demand obedience to their warped ideology. Health departments and school boards have manufactured powers to force obedience to not law but their ideology.

How many environmentalists care? Greta? Oh, decreasing the “surplus population” is a good thing, as long as one of the purged is not YOU.

The environment has been used as a weapon for Communists for decades. They know if you destroy the energy industry you destroy America which is their ultimate goal.
