Nope, we’re in arctic locker.
Single digit low last night and the high never got above freezing.
Might kiss freezing Sunday and Monday, then (woohoo!) 40 on Tuesday before a repeat of single low/20 high on Wednesday.
I’ve seen worse. In 1994 there was a day with a low of 20 below and a high of ZERO.
LOL I said it was a little warmer, not warm. Today’s 38 did feel better than yesterday’s 28 but it was still right nippy. I didn’t sit outside very long but it was nice to feel the sun and get a little fresh air. Tomorrow will be in the upper 40s and that’s the average for this time of year here. I’ll get out to run a few errands since my afternoons will be tied up Monday and Tuesday.
Bummer your clouds didn’t squeeze out some rain. :-(
dey would do dat :)
Yeah, I kept hoping to see a wet sidewalk or something, but no such luck.
Did you know that the Savannah osprey nest has owls this year? I’m excited to finally have a pair to watch!
I know you’re disappointed that you didn’t get some rain today. Y’all reeeeeeeeally need some and don’t need the teasing.
No, I didn’t know bout the owls. I haven’t paid any attention to that cam in quite a while since I’m not all that big on ospreys. How cool!! I have the cam up now, watching a segment a few hours ago when both Mom and Dad were on the nest. They have great cam angles so this should be a fun season at that nest.
It won’t be long before Bonnie lays her eggs. They visit the nest every evening now.
That gives us three with Ennis.
Finally we have owls! I didn’t realize that Bonnie and Clyde were visiting every evening. I usually just check nests early in the day. Dumb since owls are...well...night owls. LOL! I love the way the female in Savannah says “shssush” instead of “hoot”. It’s cute.
Bonnie and Clyde usually show up right after the sun goes down. Sometimes they hang around for a while, sometimes it’s a brief visit.
That sound Savannah Mom makes is the “food, now” sound. Dad doesn’t seem to be on his toes as far as bringing food. He’s only made two appearances and Mom’s hungry. The way she fussed the first time, I’m not sure he’d brought food that trip.
I don’t think I’ve ever heard one make that sound. Maybe the other dads are more on the ball.
I’ll be watching this nest for sure. I have missed owls a lot! But for now, I gotta go. You know what tomorrow morning is. See ya tomorrow night!
How's everyone doing this morning?
Got in the 20’s today but temps drop again for 4-5 days
No big snow but there has been light dusting again and again.
Your in better shape than us.
Yes, I am resting and staying inside.
You must not watch the nests very long at a time if you haven’t heard that sound. The babies make it a lot but moms will when dads are slow bringing food.
I’m going to check out some of the scaps I kept of the pair of owls we first watched at Savannah. They disappeared after the tree and nest collapsed. I hope this is the same pair, finally discovering this nest that was built by the folks at Savannah. They built it for the owls, not the ospreys.
Get a good night’s sleep so you don’t toss your alarm clock across the room in the morning. :-)
Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))
Did you get that wonderful 50 degrees they promised? Perfect weather for Gizmo. He can be as frisky as he wants and not get too hot.
See post 33. Today is KFC Pickup Day. We plan on doing Comanche Lake later today.
Looks like Gizmo had a great time. Happy face on that lil pooch. LOL
Shavua tov, prayers and blessings for our active and retired military and their families.
God Bless our military men and women who have given their all.
Thanks, unique.
Good afternoon/evening, ML...((HUGS))...and a Blessed Lord’s Day and Shavua Tov to you and yours.
You and Penny stay safe and warm. Right now it’s 40 at my house, but the week is headed back to the teens during the day and single digits at night.
Good afternoon, luvie, and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
Thanks for the hymns.
Hovering around freezing here in New England.
However, my pipes haven’t frozen! HUZZAH!
