Herpes zoster reactivation -- a.k.a. shingles -- following COVID-19 vaccination in six patients with comorbid autoimmune/inflammatory diseases may be a new adverse event associated with the Pfizer/BioNTech mRNA vaccine, suggested a new report.
At two centers in Israel, there have been six cases of herpes zoster developing shortly after administration of the Pfizer vaccine in patients with disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis since December 2020, according to Victoria Furer, MD, of Tel Aviv University, and colleagues.
Little has been known about the safety and efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccines among patients with rheumatic diseases, because immunosuppressed individuals were not included in the initial clinical trials, they explained.
Accordingly, an observational study has been conducted at the Tel Aviv Medical Center and the Carmel Medical Center in Haifa, monitoring post-vaccination adverse events in patients with rheumatoid arthritis, spondyloarthropathies, connective tissue diseases, vasculitis, and myositis. This interim analysis included 491 patients and 99 controls, with events reported during the 6-week post-vaccination monitoring period. The prevalence among patients was 1.2% versus none in controls, Furer and colleagues reported in Rheumatology.
"We haven't seen any additional cases so far," Furer told MedPage Today. However, "further surveillance of potential adverse effects following anti-COVID-19 vaccination in patients with rheumatic diseases is warranted," she added.

Was just talking by phone with my high school best friend (who has rheumatoid arthritis). It appears that this happened to him...he developed shingles after being vaccinated.
I thought everyone knew this, and I thought doctors had been told to look out for this ?
But then again probably not.
I know of several people who got this after going and getting shot up.
It only makes sense if you think about it, the immune system has a triage system and tries desperately to flatten the curve, when millions of cells suddenly malfunction and produce harmful proteins
Hmmmm. Do you know which vax?
Many years ago, a neighbor got shingles. Showed her other neighbors and we all went over to Rite-Aid and got shots. Horrible disease, and only shot I’ve ever volunteered for.
Daughter has psoriatic arthritis which seemed to get worse after her J&J shot. She only got the jab because she and hub were going to Maui for their anniversary and didn’t want to waste time in quarantine.
I need that shingles vax but am one of those scared to get it. If you have no existing problems..then great...but if you do as I do I am afraid of what it is going to trigger.
My 28 yo Son in law got Covid, then got the jab, then got shingles, then got boosted, now has covid again, honestly looks like hammered dogsh!t, and is pleading with friends on bookface for a Covid kit. He rolled his eyes at me when I literally handed him my Covid kit Ivermectin. He dropped it on the floor like I handed him kryptonite!
I guess my tag line really applies!
When I saw the title, I thought you were referring to the new studies into mRNA vaccines causing Hepatitis based on this...
Immune-mediated hepatitis with the Moderna vaccine, no longer a coincidence but confirmed

6 people is not very many considering how many people have been vaccinated.
Shingles is known to strike during times of stress.
So I’m not surprised there are some cases following vaccination.
I had shingles as a mid-30 year old in November of 2020 after a terrible terrible flu..... and had extreme neurological pain in my shoulder for 6 months afterwards.
I got the Johnson vax in march of 2021. I got Shingles again in October and just got over it about 3 weeks ago, with extreme neurological pain in my feet. I thought shingles was a rash. It is not just a rash. It is extremely painful internal malady, with stabbing pains, exhaustion, tingling, and throbbing headaches for weeks on end. I’ve been worried for months was an early symptom of MS, but I’ve also been worried that it’s a side effect of Chyna virus and the vax. I was forward deployed and am a disabled vet, so neurological disorders are not unheard of.... but I won’t get booster and this is why.
I felt pretty bad about an hour after I got the shingles shot, worse than the scamdemic shots. But please get it. Shingles left my sister-in-law with impaired vision.
I found out the shingles vax ran their confirmation testing with the aborted fetal cell lines. This is my only against that shot. Thinking about taking it as part of a fasting/healing type journey. Never EVER thought I would have to consider such things!
Not really factual. The actual initial 'trials' are being conducted now.....on the entire human population.

PING
Herpes zoster (shingles) is among the most commonly cited side effect I’ve encountered when reading anecdotes and first person accounts of ‘vaccination.’
That’s not new.
People have been reporting that for some time now.
It’s only TPTB are now acknowledging it.
I have yet to dissect this. It is tieing the virus to impaired immune response in humans. British weekly review.
