It is a perfect picture of how the elites just drive right over top of us, making “laws for thee and not for me!”
Doesn’t matter. Santa Monica, WeHo, Brentwood..:all the same drivers.
It’s not the drivers causing people to sit there through multiple traffic light cycles, it’s too many cars!
If people didn’t left turn on reds in LA, the place would be completely grid locked. That’s why cops seldom ever stop those folks, especially during heavy drive times.
The cars are driving themselves? It’s not Silicon Valley.
That was sort of my point.
Uh...What?
Look at the left turn bays on many LA roads...They have a capacity for a few cars when dozens are backed up wanting to left turn...That’s why when the light turns red, cars keep turning left to avoid sitting through yet another light cycle. If nobody turned on reds, all the roads would be hopelessly gridlocked. In LA it’s called TMC...Too many cars..It’s that simple.
My father had a black Ford Granada back in the day when we lived in Santa Barbara.
You sound like you were happy with yours.
My father’s Ford Granada was a lemon....a vehicle from hell.
The transmission fluid would turn brown after a short period of time. It wasn’t supposed to do that.
Also, it didn’t handle well on the road. The car swayed a bit when driven on the freeway.
One time, I borrowed the Granada and drove to Los Angeles.
A girl I knew from back East was visiting her uncle, and I took her to Disneyland for the day.
On the way back to her uncle’s apartment, I was driving on the freeway at night between Orange County and LA. The car, as usual, was swaying a bit.
I got pulled over by the California Highway Patrol. The police officer approached the rolled down window; he thought I was a drunk driver! Back in those days, there was no alcohol served in Disneyland, and I’m not the type to drink and drive anyway.
I explained to him about the Granada. He seemed to believe me, but had a “What the Hell” look on his face.
He went back to his car and after a while, he drove off.
I’m glad you had a better experience with your Granada.
Are they sure it was really him and not an evil cyborg from the future hunting for Sarah Connor?
Bless his soul. Let’s see what happened.
Nice area. Great weather. Sorry about the people. (West side weenies)
Making a left turn on red. Not ticketed. Only a famous leftist gets away with **** like that.
The diagram you posted fits the photos. Looks like he was parked at the red light and the Prius turned wide and ran into him. I wonder if there are other roads nearby that are two-lanes or two lanes but one way that the Prius may have gotten confused? She didn’t just sort of stray over the line - she was IN the lane.
I looked on Google Earth. On Allenford it has two lanes at the “T” intersection. The left lane is left turn only, the right lane is left turn and right turn.
Sunset Blvd. is two lanes. I can’t imagine that the Prius driver got confused and attempted to turn right from the far left lane?? (Forgot if she was coming or going!)
I have been caught sometimes when something is just a bit different. Where I live almost every intersection with a dedicated left turn lane has a green arrow to turn left. But every so often it is just a green light, and the oncoming traffic doesn’t have to yield. When I first moved out here I almost turned left into traffic thinking it was a green arrow.
“Looks like he was parked at the red light and the Prius turned wide and ran into him.”
The *DM* article reported that the Prius was making a U-turn.
My guess is, that the Prius did [U-]turn wide, and the Yukon SUV was barely out of its position on Allenford Ave. (and commencing the start of its turn), when the front of the Prius collided with the front of the Yukon SUV.
From that moment, I am again guessing, that the Prius either [miraculously?] managed to push Yukon SUV backward, or Arnold put the Yukon SUV into reverse, and to the right-rear of the Yukon SUV, so that the right-rear passenger door (and some of the adjacent right-rear quarter panel, of the Yukon SUV collided with the white Mazda alongside the Allenford Ave. curb.
And then the Prius driver continued to be alarmed, and instead of stopping, continued to press the gas pedal and managed to get under the front of the Yukon SUV, enough, to drive the up-lifted and somewhat-traction-less Yukon SUV, backward a bit more, yet away from the white Mazda, when the backward motion was finally stopped by the Porsche Cayenne at the rear of the Yukon SUV.
Maybe.
I’ve seen this before. Now does Arnold begin to transition to female? That’s what Bruce did after his car crash.
Something weird about those California weirdos!
“The *DM* article reported that the Prius was making a U-turn.”
HEY! That’s no fair reading the article! (Well, it was interesting as I pondered in my ignorance what happened.)
Is he transitioning too? That’s what did it for Bruce Jenner. If she dies, he pretty much has to.
