The University Park neighborhood of Los Angeles has a lot in common with urban areas across the US: A dense population with lots of businesses and housing. A cluster of car dealerships. A row of restaurants. Schools and a community center.
But nestled in the predominantly Latino community is something rarely found in urban areas outside California: an oil field.

De-carbonize the whole Basin.
There is very little drilling going on in that area. Would you take that risk?
In fact I think they ought to go out to the San Andreas and detonate some big charges and hasten the inevitable.
Guess $6/gal is not high enough.

If not... why not?
I used to live three blocks from that oil field in North University Park, but I didn’t know of its existence until I read this article. They apparently kept it well-hidden.

They are not drilling new wells. These are old ones that are still producing. Most are well concealed. A college classmate of mine went to Hollywood High. There was an active well on campus.
I read a few years ago about oil well ownership in the LA area. There are dozens (like 85 iirc) of different owners, owning a well or two.
We just need a national divorce. We’re never going to live in harmony with these leftists. Just not gonna happen.
Just look at Santa Barbara. The beaches have oil blobs and the sulfur smell from oil seeping from the ocean floor is pretty intense. The leftists environmentalists have shut down a huge economic arena.
