You have a very narrow view of what a strong Russia can do to the USA.
Maybe that’s your wish?
This is motivating discussion here under Constitutional restrictions and revision thereof. And, increasing AUKUS effectiveness, as well as alliances with NZ, Singapore, India, and Taiwan in the wider Indo-Pacific.
All:
But I will suspend this for now, and put up a new post since this thread is dedicated primarily to Ukraine and Russia.
You've already done your damage. Why don't you move on to a new subject?
Since the upheavals of the early 1990s, Russia under Putin has always craved a return to the status quo of the Cold War, with buffer states that protected Russia from imminent invasion and a de facto sphere of influence that enhances and validates Russian power. The spectacle of America’s chaotic and haphazard withdrawal from Afghanistan and the presence of the weakest US President since Carter signaled to Putin that now is the best opportunity to achieve those goals. Russia is demanding Ukraine never be admitted to NATO and is marching troops around its borders to force the US and NATO to disavow membership for Kiev in writing
A possible solution is this: persuade Ukraine to declare neutrality, similar to Finland - a move that puts NATO membership on ice, but still allows Ukraine to amass Western military capabilities (Finland operates US F/A 18 fighter and German Leopard tanks) and even join the EU. Plus, neutrality is always reversible - Finland and Sweden have been flirting with NATO membership for years and are very active in NATO operations and exercises. And Russia’s invasion of a neutral country would draw worldwide condemnation, even from some of its closer partners.
So once Ukraine declares neutrality, we sell Kiev a boatload of advanced capabilities AND we slap maximum pain on Russia if it does not cease its hybrid campaign against Ukraine and move its troops from the border region.
Putin so far has risked nothing, so the US and its Allies have to impose some cost to signal to Putin that he actually did take a risk - and lost.
“Maybe that’s your wish?”
Ha, no I am no communist. But what I want is so far different than most that you wouldn’t understand. If we don’t destroy ourselves, maybe in a thousand years we might get there.
I hear you man i want off the planet not having luck
