Just think of leftism as a religion. It is above everything to these looks. Reality or experience mean nothing to them if it contradicts their doctrine. They never learn. They just move on to destroy the next city, state, or country.

No, a draft is morally wretched and guarantee its one of the most likely ways to make a lot of conservatives and right leaning moderates move the other way.
Sure. Mandatory military service can foster patriotism. It did so in Germany, Japan, Russia, and China. But not always in a good way.
In today’s modern woke military, the draft would only make things worse.
And I disagree in principle with forcing women into any fighting roles.
May be a better solution would be a draft for political service in which random citizens are selected to hold public office for a period of time. I can’t imagine a randomly selected citizen doing a worse job than our current president or speaker of the house.
